God’s Voice in My Melody — Remilekun Amos

A Journey of Faith and Music

Gospel singer Remilekun Amos has shared a deep reflection on his spiritual journey, musical identity, and the impact of his ministry. His story is one of divine calling, cultural roots, and an unwavering commitment to spreading the message of hope through music.

The Defining Moment in Gospel Music

Amos described a pivotal moment in his gospel music career that shaped his entire path. He spoke about receiving a powerful revelation of prophetic songs. “My defining moment was when I received a powerful revelation of songs that are prophetic. Whenever I render those songs, the prophecies in them come to pass. That experience deepened my commitment to the calling and shaped my ministry for good,” he shared.

This revelation not only solidified his faith but also gave him a sense of purpose. It was a turning point that led him to embrace his role as a minister through music.

Musical Identity Rooted in Scripture and Culture

When asked about his sound, Amos emphasized that his music is deeply rooted in scripture and influenced by his cultural heritage. “My sound is inspired by the Holy Spirit and carries a distinct factor from my Zion music roots in the Ilaje clan of Ondo State. I describe my style as scripture-based, inspirational and philosophical Zion gospel music,” he explained.

His music reflects a blend of traditional elements with modern gospel expressions, creating a unique sound that resonates with listeners across different backgrounds.

Ministry as a Divine Responsibility

Amos expressed his view on ministry as both a privilege and a divine responsibility. He mentioned his participation in the upcoming program, Feast of Praise, as an opportunity to connect with God’s people. “I always see any opportunity to minister as a privilege bestowed on me by the grace of God. To minister at Feast of Praise is no exception. God is helping us prepare for a memorable encounter with His people,” he said.

This perspective highlights his belief in the sacred nature of his work and the importance of being a vessel for God’s message.

Creative Process Focused on Spiritual Alignment

Amos revealed that his creative process begins with spiritual alignment rather than melody or rhythm. “It starts with aligning with God through prayer, meditation, and studying the scriptures. These help me encounter God’s heart in songs and words. Once I am in His presence, I submit fully to hear from Him,” he noted.

This approach ensures that his music is not just a product of artistic expression but a reflection of his relationship with God.

A Testimony of God’s Faithfulness

One of the most significant testimonies in Amos’ ministry involves a woman who had prayed for the fruit of the womb for years. “There was someone who had been praying for the fruit of the womb for years. She stayed connected to my songs and even said she wanted me to christen her child when her testimony came. Eventually, God answered her prayers, she reached out from London, United Kingdom, and I went to christen the child. I give God all the glory,” he shared.

This story underscores the power of faith and the role of music in bringing about divine breakthroughs.
