Nicki Minaj has recently found herself in the spotlight for her response to online critics on X, where she addressed the ongoing negativity directed at her. In a post shared on Sunday afternoon, she wrote, “By now, they’ve learned that hate does not move me. I wasn’t made with that gene. Love does, tho. Sometimes.” This message came after her former collaborator, Justin Bieber, skipped their hit song “Beauty and a Beat” during his performance at Coachella, which led some fans to mock her.
The post also comes at a time when Minaj is facing scrutiny over her growing association with the Trump administration and the MAGA movement. Despite previously criticizing President Donald Trump during his first term, she has since publicly aligned herself with him, even attending events that promote his policies.

Minaj’s recent post on X sparked a variety of reactions from users. One person questioned, “Sometimes?” while another accused her of “tanking,” sharing an AI-generated GIF of the rapper being thrown into a trash can. Another fan wrote, “If hate didn’t move you, this tweet wouldn’t exist. Trying so hard to look unbothered. Main character energy with no audience.”

Minaj’s shift in stance toward the Trump administration marks a significant change from her previous public criticisms. In 2018, she spoke out against Trump’s strict immigration policies, sharing her personal story of coming to the U.S. as an illegal immigrant from Trinidad and Tobago. She expressed deep concern for families separated by these policies, writing, “I can’t imagine the horror of being in a strange place & having my parents stripped away from me at the age of five.”
She continued, “This is so scary to me. Please stop this. Can you try to imagine the terror and panic these kids feel right now? Not knowing if their parents are dead or alive, if they’ll ever see them again.”

In January, Minaj was seen at a Treasury Department event promoting “Trump accounts,” part of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The program offers a “pilot program contribution of $1,000” for eligible children. During the event, she stated, “I am probably the president’s number one fan, and that’s not going to change.”
Minaj, who has not yet obtained U.S. citizenship, claimed to have received a Trump Gold Card from the President. According to the official government website, the Trump Gold Card allows for U.S. residency in record time for a fee of $15,000 in DHS processing and a $1 million contribution.

On X, Minaj posted, “Gold Trump card free of charge,” alongside an image of a Chucky doll flipping off the camera. She added, “Finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak as per MY wonderful, gracious, charming President.” However, a White House official later clarified that the gold card was merely a “memento” and not a real document.
Despite the controversy surrounding her ties to the Trump administration, Minaj continues to express her support for the President, often using social media to highlight her alignment with his policies. Her public statements and appearances have sparked both praise and criticism, reflecting the polarizing nature of her current position.
