The Rumble Band, a renowned Soul and Motown dance band from Grimsby, has experienced an overwhelming response from fans for their Get Ready to Rumble tour. As a result, they have added an extra performance in Cleethorpes. In addition to their homecoming show on September 12 at The Beachcomber, the band will also perform there on the night before, Friday, September 11.
This venue was previously the site of the 13-piece soul legends’ 40th anniversary reunion show. It brought together members who were part of the memorable 1985 Live Aid gig at Cleethorpes Winter Gardens. Over 700 fans attended the event, which featured Dave Ranshaw, the front man from the 1980s and 1990s.
For this year’s tour, the band has limited tickets to 350 to ensure that every guest has a seat. This will also be the first time that the band’s new front man, Chris Lynn, will perform in Cleethorpes.

Drummer Ray Wilson expressed his gratitude to the fans, stating, “The Rumble Band would like to give a very big thank you to all our fans for your overwhelming support. As a result of an enormous demand, we have added an extra date to our performance on September 12.”
The Rumble Band, in collaboration with Away Resorts Beachcomber, has included Friday, September 11, as an additional stop on the Get Ready to Rumble ’26 Tour in Cleethorpes. Ray encouraged fans to bring their cameras and dancing shoes and to meet some old friends from the days at the wonderful Winter Gardens.
Tickets will be available on a first-come-first-served basis, with only 350 seats available. The evening will feature surprise special guest appearances and a DJ.
Ray continued, “After nearly 21 years fronting The Rumble Band, our lead singer, Allan Scorer, has decided to take a step back from performing and to take a well-earned rest. I’ve had the privilege of performing with Allan for 30 years, 21 of those with the Rumble Band. We have all had some memorable gigs over the years with Allan.”
He added, “We are absolutely delighted to introduce our new lead singer, Chris Lynn. Since Chris started watching the Rumble Band at the legendary venue – The Winter Gardens in Cleethorpes at the age of 16, he has been in love with soul music. He’s been singing for 30 years and started in his first Soul band at university in 1996. He joined a Yorkshire-based Soul and Motown band in 2004 and has subsequently performed around most of the UK.”
“With a powerful voice and a tremendous stage presence, he’s an excellent addition to the band and indeed, made a fantastic debut with us at The Venue, Halifax, at the beginning of March at the start of our Get Ready to Rumble 26 Tour. I’m sure you’ll join us in wishing Chris every success with the band.”

The Rumble Band, known as Grimsby’s greatest Soul and Motown dance band, has built up a solid reputation based on their outstanding live performances. They provide an amazing “60’s Soul and Motown Review.” The band has shared stages with many of the original Soul and Motown legends such as Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, Clem Cutis and the Foundations, The Four Tops, Jimmy James and the Vagabonds, Edwin Starr, Ben E King, George McRea, Jimmy Ruffin, The Real Thing, as well as many other professional performing artists from the USA and UK.
