The one-day finale was packed with action, featuring two semi-finals, an All-Star exhibition match, a third-place playoff, and a highly anticipated final—each played before an enthusiastic crowd that transformed the venue into a true festival of youth sport.

Exciting Performances on the Pitch

In the first semi-final, Fortune FA showcased their dominance with a powerful performance. Adebayo Lateef was the standout player, scoring a blistering hat-trick in the first half, while Odeshola Odunayo added a brace, helping his team overwhelm Pure Talent FA. Despite their efforts, Pure Talent FA managed to score two consolation goals, highlighting their resilience.

The second semi-final was a tense affair that ended in a goalless draw. Strong Dove FA ultimately emerged victorious, winning 4–2 on penalties. Their composure under pressure proved crucial in securing their place in the final.

A Nail-Biting Final Decided by Penalties

The final match between Strong Dove FA and Fortune FA was a thrilling encounter. Strong Dove FA took an early lead through Tejumola Boluwatife, but Fortune FA quickly equalised via Markson Victor. Both teams remained level at the end of regular time, leading to a penalty shootout. Fortune FA came out on top, winning 3–2, with Odunayo converting the decisive kick to seal their victory.

Fortune FA not only lifted the trophy but also claimed the ₦500,000 prize, with each player receiving ₦5,000. Strong Dove FA earned ₦300,000, Ajegunle United SC received ₦150,000, and Pure Talent FA took home ₦75,000. The fifth- and sixth-placed teams were also acknowledged for their contributions.

Highlighting Inclusion and Community Support

The All-Star game provided a moment of respite for the finalists, offering entertainment and a chance to celebrate the season’s achievements. In addition, the event placed a strong emphasis on inclusion, as 150 girls from the “Let Her Play Project” were honored with certificates, food packs, and cash gifts. This gesture marked a significant step forward in promoting gender equality in sports.

Adding to the festive atmosphere was Prince Abayomi Ogunjimi, National President of the Authentic Nigeria Football and Allied Sports Supporters Club. His group brought their signature drumming and dancing, creating an energetic environment reminiscent of a Super Eagles matchday.

Ogunjimi praised the organizers—the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Sports Council, led by McAnthony Anaelechukwu—for their professionalism and dedication to youth development. He also commended Yemi Idowu for his continued investment in grassroots football.

Looking Ahead to the Season’s Conclusion

The season will come to a close next month at the New Maracana Sports Complex in Tolu, where the Best XI and individual award winners will be unveiled. This event is expected to be another highlight in the journey of young footballers across the region.
