Dylan Dreyer Launches New Parenting Podcast Amid Personal Life Changes
Just weeks after initiating divorce proceedings from her estranged husband, Brian Fichera, Today show co-host Dylan Dreyer has announced a significant new venture: a parenting podcast titled The Parent Chat. The 44-year-old television personality shared her excitement for the upcoming program, which is slated to premiere on April 2nd.
The Parent Chat promises to delve into the “wild, wonderful and sometimes messy world of parenting,” offering a relatable and supportive space for mothers navigating the complexities of raising children. Dreyer, a mother of three boys – Calvin, nine, Oliver, six, and Russell, four – residing in New York City, will be sharing her own experiences and insights.
The official synopsis highlights Dreyer’s unique position: “You know her as Today‘s candid third hour host, but Dreyer is also a mom of three boys in New York City trying to figure out the big stuff: how to raise kind, confident, resilient kids and keep her sanity along the way.” It further acknowledges the universal parental struggle, stating, “And like every parent, sometimes she needs… help!”

The podcast aims to address this need by featuring advice from a range of parenting experts. The overarching goal is to create a sense of community and solidarity for working mothers, helping them feel less isolated in their parenting journeys. The project’s tagline succinctly captures this sentiment: “Parenting doesn’t come with a manual, but it can come with a group chat.”

This new professional undertaking comes at a time of significant personal transition for Dreyer. She filed for divorce on March 10th, following an announcement in July 2025 that she and Fichera had made the difficult decision to separate after 14 years of marriage.
In a heartfelt statement shared on Instagram at the time of their separation announcement, Dreyer expressed her gratitude for the support she had received over the years. “For many years I have shared my family with you all – the highs and lows,” she wrote. “The ups and downs. And all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between. I am incredibly grateful for the support and love you’ve given me through it all. For that reason, I want to share with you that a few months ago, Brian and I made the decision to separate.”
Later that year, in November, Dreyer elaborated on the split during an appearance on the Today show. She described how she and Fichera had “reframed our relationship.”
“We’re no longer husband and wife and all those things that were broken,” she explained. “Because we’ve accepted they’re broken. That’s why we separated. Now let’s move forward as friends.”

Dreyer also shared how this shift in their dynamic had brought a new perspective to their interactions. “I also no longer get mad at those other things that I was getting mad at before,” she noted, “because just like a friend you give them a little more grace when you’re not married to it.” She candidly admitted that she felt she could be a “better friend” to Fichera than she had been as a wife.

Crucially, Dreyer emphasised that both parents remain committed to their children’s lives and well-being. “I want their dad in their life. They need that,” she stated. “They need both the dynamic of a mother and a father, and we’re providing that to them in the best way possible.” This commitment underscores their focus on co-parenting and ensuring stability for their sons.

Dreyer and Fichera’s relationship began in the early 2000s when they both worked at a news station in Boston. They eventually tied the knot in October 2012. Now, as Dreyer embarks on this new chapter with The Parent Chat, she aims to leverage her personal experiences and professional expertise to support other parents facing similar challenges and joys. The podcast is poised to become a valuable resource, offering practical advice and a sense of shared understanding in the often-demanding world of parenthood.
