After one season in Austin, Texas women’s basketball player Aaliyah Crump is reportedly ready to play elsewhere. Talia Goodman of On3 reported on Monday evening that Crump has decided to enter the transfer portal. Crump’s departure comes on the first day of the transfer portal’s 15-window.
Crump has not yet made any announcement about her plans. When contacted by the American-Statesman on Monday, a Texas spokesperson could not confirm the On3 report.
The No. 5 recruit in the Class of 2025, Crump was the highest-rated prospect signed by Vic Schaefer during his six years at Texas. A 6-foot-1 guard out of Minnesota, Crump started the first five games of this season before a foot injury sidelined her for two months. After her return, Crump was used off the bench.

Crump averaged 7.9 points per game during a freshman season that had some memorable moments. She returned from her injury with a 12-point performance against Texas A&M, and she later scored 16 points in a 77-64 win over then-No. 5 LSU. Despite missing 15 games, Crump’s 23 3-pointers ranked in a second-place tie among the Longhorns.
“She’s going to be a big-time player,” Texas senior Rori Harmon said of Crump in February.
But Crump’s playing time was also inconsistent throughout this season. Crump played 29 minutes in a Final Four loss to eventual NCAA champion UCLA, but she exceeded 20 minutes in just five games after her return.
