Adele’s New Chapter: From Music to Acting
Adele, the internationally renowned singer, is reportedly back in the recording studio after a five-year hiatus since the release of her acclaimed album 30. Following the conclusion of her Las Vegas residency in November 2024, the 37-year-old artist has taken a step back from the public eye. However, insiders suggest that this period of quietude may be leading to a significant career shift.
A New Role on the Big Screen
Adele is set to make her acting debut in Tom Ford’s upcoming film Cry To Heaven, alongside actors Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Nicholas Hoult. The movie is an adaptation of Anne Rice’s 1982 novel, which explores the lives of castrated opera singers, or castrati, and feuding aristocrats in 18th-century Italy. This role marks a bold new direction for the singer, who has long been associated with her powerful vocals.
To complement her acting role, Adele is also expected to record a new single. A source close to the project told The Sun:
“The movie is steeped in the opera world, so naturally, they wanted the world’s most famous singer involved. When she finally agreed to record a track, the producers were ecstatic. Getting new material from Adele is like gold dust. But she is absolutely determined to prove she has the acting chops on camera to match her powerhouse vocals.”

A Shift in Focus
Another insider revealed that Adele, who trained at the BRIT School, is planning to transition away from music and focus on acting. They said:
“The truth is, an acting career is vastly more conducive to family life than being a touring musician. Film sets offer a structured routine. You shoot for a few months in one location, you do the press, and then you are done.”
Adele, a mother to her son Angelo, 12, has often spoken about her dislike for touring. She co-parents with her ex-husband Simon Konecki. During her final performance at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace after a two-year stint, she shared:
“To my son, I chose to do a residency maybe because I f** hate touring. But I chose to do a residency so I could keep his life normal. And I did do that. But I also wouldn’t change it for the world, but I get to be with him on the weekends now because obviously he can’t always come. So I love you to bits. … Thank you for being patient for me.”
She also expressed her desire to move on from her current chapter, saying:
“I just don’t know when I want to next come on stage. And it’s time to move on. It’s time for the next chapter and it’s time for the next season of my life.”

Looking Ahead: Family and Future Plans
Adele has openly expressed her desire to have more children with her fiancé, Rich Paul. The couple has been together since publicly announcing their relationship in July 2021 at an NBA game. In August 2024, Adele confirmed their engagement during a concert in Munich, Germany. She shared:
“I really want to be a mum again soon, so every time I see a name I like, I write it down in my phone.”
An insider added that stepping into Hollywood is the perfect compromise for Adele, allowing her to “keep her family grounded” while being present for “every school run and bedtime story.”
