Stars Shine Bright at HBO Max London Launch

The glitz and glamour of the entertainment world descended upon London this week as a host of stars turned out for the highly anticipated HBO Max launch event. Among the most dazzling attendees were Aimee Lou Wood and Marisa Abela, who both exuded sophistication and style on the red carpet.

Aimee Lou Wood, 32, opted for a striking light blue satin mini dress that beautifully showcased her enviable figure. She expertly complemented the ensemble with classic black stockings and towering black pointed heels, adding significant height and a touch of allure to her overall look.

Meanwhile, Marisa Abela, 29, commanded attention in a chic, asymmetrical off-the-shoulder outfit. Her ensemble featured a stylish one-shoulder blouse that seamlessly transitioned into a flowing black maxi skirt. The skirt boasted a daring thigh-high slit, adding a dramatic flair to her red carpet appearance. Black pointed heels completed her sophisticated ensemble, with minimal accessories allowing her outfit to take centre stage.

The two actresses appeared to be in high spirits, sharing smiles and posing for a multitude of stunning photographs at the star-studded affair. They were joined by a notable cast of personalities, including Matt Smith, James Norton, Jordan Firstman, and True Whitaker, all contributing to the event’s impressive guest list.

Industry’s Farewell Season Announcement

The high-profile launch comes just weeks after the news broke that the critically acclaimed HBO/BBC production, Industry, will be concluding with its fifth season. Marisa Abela, who stars as Yasmin in the series, and her on-screen colleague and self-proclaimed “bestie,” Myha’la Herrold, had previously shared behind-the-scenes glimpses as they celebrated the show’s renewal.

The decision to end the series, which delves into the cut-throat world of finance, was met with a sentiment of concluding on a “high.” Marisa expressed her delight at the news of returning for the final run, sharing a collection of candid photos with her castmates and the show’s creators.

Her social media post, captioned “Industry hive… Industry five!!! The final season. Let’s f*in go 😭,” offered fans an intimate look at the cast’s camaraderie. The accompanying images captured playful moments, including the cast impersonating walruses with wooden chopsticks and striking dramatic poses in the back of a car. Several of these snapshots also featured the show’s creators, Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, underscoring the collaborative spirit behind the series.

The creators themselves shared a heartfelt statement regarding the series’ conclusion. They expressed their privilege in joining a select group of dramas that have achieved a five-season run on HBO. Reflecting on the decade-long journey since conceiving the world of Industry, they attributed its existence to the unwavering faith and vision of their partners at HBO, naming key individuals who were instrumental in its development. They also acknowledged Jane Tranter and her partners at Bad Wolf as the show’s guiding light and fiercest champion, alongside thanking the BBC for their partnership.

The statement further elaborated on the decision to end the show at its peak: “For sometime now we have been thinking about how best to end the show on an unparalleled high. Unlike some of our characters, we know when to leave a party.” They extended their gratitude to their dedicated fanbase, particularly those who had supported the show from its inception. Finally, they emphasised their profound debt to the show’s crews and the “best cast on TV” for bringing their writing to life, stating that the characters will endure through their world-class performances. The HBO indent preceding their work, they noted, will never cease to be a thrill, reaffirming HBO as the premier platform for television production and expressing anticipation for future collaborations.

The collection of photos shared included a recent cast picture, featuring Marisa’s on-screen husband, Kit Harington, alongside Ken Leung, Sagar Radia, and Myha’la.

Marisa’s post arrived shortly after HBO officially announced the show’s final season. The announcement was accompanied by a provocative image of Yasmin (Marisa) and Henry’s (Kit) wedding, complete with lines of white powder and a rolled-up twenty-pound note, hinting at the dramatic narrative to come. The caption declared: “All lined up. INDUSTRY is officially returning for its fifth and final series.”

Personal Milestones and Resilience

Beyond the professional sphere, Marisa has also been navigating personal milestones. The actress recently enjoyed a romantic getaway to New York City with her husband, Jamie Bogyo.

West End actor Jamie, 31, was pictured sporting a black wool coat, a yellow beanie hat, and a red scarf, engaging in public displays of affection with his wife. The newlyweds, who exchanged vows in September 2025, were seen enjoying a slice of chocolate cake at the upscale Ralph Lauren restaurant, The Polo Bar.

The couple’s journey began when they first met while studying at the prestigious acting school RADA in 2016. They later became engaged in July 2024 during a romantic stroll through Primrose Hill in London. Their wedding took place in a picturesque manor house in Sussex in September 2025, followed by a lively reception at Soho House’s Brighton outpost.

Marisa has openly shared her courageous battle with thyroid cancer, highlighting Jamie’s unwavering support as a pivotal moment that solidified her belief in him as “the one.” Diagnosed with the disease in 2020 at the age of 23, she underwent an extensive eight-hour operation to remove the tumour.

Speaking on the How To Fail with Elizabeth Day podcast, Marisa recounted Jamie’s significant role during her illness: “He [Jamie] was an immense help and it was one of the moments where I knew that this was the person I wanted to be with forever.” She emphasised the importance of having a partner who provides support through both triumphs and adversities. “I think it’s equally as important to have someone who supports you when you’re up and when you’re down,” she added. “Jamie is great at both. He’s there on a red carpet with me when I’m really proud of my work and is the number one person that’s always like ‘look how great she is’, but also when things aren’t good, he is right there and he looks after me. He is the most supportive person in every way and I’m so lucky.”
