A Shocking Confession from a Reality Star
Alicia Carmody, a star of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, made a shocking confession during an episode that even surprised the show’s producers. The 41-year-old reality TV personality casually mentioned in a confessional that she had been involved in accidents, including one where she ran over a woman.
“I’ve gotten in accidents. I ran over a woman,” Carmody said during the episode. “I’ve almost driven off a bridge. So, I’ve been there, done that with driving.”
An off-camera producer then asked for clarification: “What do you mean, you ran over a woman?”
Carmody repeated her statement: “I ran over a woman.”
According to reports, the incident occurred when Carmody was driving at 15 miles per hour towards a red light. She claimed that “this woman just dove in front of my car.” The experience was life-changing for her, as she described it as “crazy because I thought for 10 seconds I killed someone, [which was] the worst feeling in the world.”
Carmody added that the event probably gave her PTSD, emphasizing that “accidents do happen, but it was just the worst.”
While some celebrities have faced legal consequences for similar incidents, others have escaped without any jail time. For example:
- Matthew Broderick, known for his role in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, was convicted of careless driving and fined £100 after a collision in Northern Ireland in 1987 that killed Anna Gallagher and her mother Margaret Doherty.
- Caitlyn Jenner was not charged for her involvement in a 2015 multiple-car collision in Malibu that resulted in the death of Kim Howe. However, she settled civil lawsuits from her stepchildren and other drivers.
- Rebecca Gayheart, an actress from Jawbreaker, was sentenced to three years of probation and a $2,800 fine for hitting nine-year-old Jorge Cruz Jr. with her car in 2001. She also settled a wrongful death lawsuit with his parents.
- Brandy, an R&B singer, was not arrested for rear-ending a car on LA’s 405 freeway in 2006, which caused the death of Awatef Aboudihaj. She settled multiple lawsuits from her family members.
Some celebrities have served hard time for vehicular manslaughter, such as:
- Vince Neil, the frontman of Mötley Crüe, who served 15 days in jail.
- Amy Locane-Bovenizer, an actress from Cry Baby, who received an eight-year sentence.

Carmody and her fiancé, Bill Kitsilis, got engaged in 2018, the same year they welcomed their daughter Celina. They started dating in 2016. The couple currently co-own Pizza Mamma in Cranston, along with Kitsilis’s other ventures, Angelo’s Palace Pizza and Antonio’s Pizza by the Slice.
