In a clip that quickly made the rounds online, Schwarzenegger couldn’t stop smiling as he filmed Baena confidently posing under the bright stage lights. He stayed close to the action, clearly soaking in every second as his son flexed and showed off his physique.
Just behind him, Baena moved through a series of classic bodybuilding poses, putting his sculpted arms, defined legs and chiseled core on full display — all while channeling the same commanding stage presence his famous dad is known for. At one point, Schwarzenegger even beamed straight into the camera, looking beyond proud as Baena hit pose after pose. The moment felt full circle, especially considering the Terminator star built his own legacy in bodybuilding long before becoming a global name.
A Growing Legacy in Fitness
Baena, who has been carving out his own lane in the fitness world, looked confident and focused throughout the competition. Wearing traditional posing trunks, he moved through his routine with ease, drawing attention from both the audience and judges. Naturally, fans couldn’t get enough of the sweet moment. The heartfelt clip comes shortly after the 28-year-old fitness enthusiast showed off his toned physique during a solo stroll in Los Angeles on March 30. For the outing, Baena kept it casual in tight black shorts, worn brown flip-flops and small sunglasses. He went shirtless, listening to music through his earphones while keeping to himself during the walk. At one point, he carried a black tee in his hand as he made his way around his neighborhood.
Success on the Competition Stage
Just days earlier, on March 28, Baena revealed on social media that he took home first place in multiple categories at the NPC Natural Colorado State competition, including the Men’s Open Body Heavy Weight Class, Men’s Classic Physique True Novice and Men’s Class Physique Novice. “Mission Accomplished! 🥇,” he penned alongside several snaps of himself onstage at the event. The day before the competition, he also shared a few backstage selfies, showing off his prep. “Checked in and ready for tomorrow’s show,” his caption read.
A Strong Bond with His Father
Baena is the star’s son with his former housekeeper, Mildred Baena. He was born just days apart from Christopher Schwarzenegger, whom Arnold shares with ex-wife Maria Shriver. Despite the circumstances, Joseph and Arnold have built a strong relationship over the years — even training and working out together.
“My dad is old-school; he doesn’t believe in handouts. He believes hard work pays off, and so do I,” the Pepperdine University graduate told Men’s Health in 2022. “I love the word ‘honor,’ and I’m very prideful in the sense that if I use my dad’s contacts or ask him for favors, I wonder what honor is that gonna bring me?” he went on.
Joseph also shared that his passion for fitness started early, especially after his dad gifted him a copy of The Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding.
