Aylesbury Waterside Theatre Unveils Exciting Summer Schedule

Aylesbury Waterside Theatre has announced an impressive lineup of performances for the summer season, featuring a mix of popular musicals, dramas, and family-friendly shows. The schedule promises to deliver entertainment for all ages, with a range of productions that have previously captivated audiences in the West End.

Musical Performances

One of the highlights of the summer is the return of Priscilla Queen of the Desert, a musical adaptation of the iconic film. This production will run from May 4 to May 9, offering audiences a vibrant celebration of drag and dance. Another beloved classic, Rocky Horror Picture Show, will also make an appearance at the theatre between May 26 and May 30, inviting fans to join in the interactive experience.

In September, The Choir of Man will take the stage from September 1 to September 5. Described as a heartwarming pub-set production, this show blends live music, dance, and storytelling to create an unforgettable evening. Meanwhile, Legally Blonde, a musical based on the hit Reese Witherspoon film series, will be performed from October 6 to October 10, bringing the story of Elle Woods to life on stage.

Another notable production is 2:22 A Ghost Story, which previously graced the West End and featured Lily Allen. This supernatural thriller will run from June 8 to June 13, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats until the very end. Lord of the Dance, a long-running favorite by Michael Flatley, will be staged from September 14 to September 20, showcasing the power and precision of traditional Irish dance.

Classic Plays and Mystery Thrillers

For those who enjoy classic theatre, The Mousetrap will be performed from September 9 to September 14. As the world’s longest-running play, it continues to captivate audiences with its clever mystery and unexpected twist, inviting viewers to solve the puzzle alongside the characters.

Family-Friendly Shows

The summer schedule also includes several family-friendly performances. An adaptation of Roald Dahl’s The Enormous Crocodile will be presented from May 1 to May 3, bringing the mischievous crocodile to life for young audiences. Another popular book will be brought to the stage with Horrible Histories: Awful Egyptians and Terrible Tudors, running from May 14 to May 16. Additionally, Bluey’s Big Play will make its stage debut from July 16 to July 19, adapting the beloved children’s television series into a live performance.

Live Music and Special Events

Live music performances are also set to fill the theatre with energy throughout the season. Suzanne Vega will perform on July 31, followed by UK Pink Floyd on July 31. Queen of the Night, a tribute to Whitney Houston, is scheduled for August 25. Other musical acts include Kate Rusby, whose folk sounds will enchant audiences on May 21, and Queen by Candlelight on June 6. K-Pop All Stars will bring their energetic performances to the stage on April 23.

Special evening events are also planned, including a performance by world-renowned violinist Nigel Kennedy on April 26. A unique “audience with” event hosted by a wildlife presenter will take place on May 25, offering an engaging and educational experience for attendees.
