Following in the footsteps of his famous parents, Brooklyn Beckham is reportedly in discussions for his own docuseries, potentially airing on American streaming giant Hulu. This comes amidst ongoing reports of a significant rift between Brooklyn and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham.
The eldest son of the iconic power couple, David and Victoria Beckham, reportedly made a strong statement on social media in January, accusing his parents of being “controlling” and attempting to “ruin” his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham. Despite several public attempts by David and Victoria to extend an olive branch, reports suggest these overtures have been met with silence, with Brooklyn, 26, previously stating he has “no desire to reconcile” with his family.
Now, several months later, the culinary entrepreneur, known for his hot sauce brand, is said to be exploring a new venture in the spotlight. His management team is reportedly engaged in “early talks with production heads at Hulu,” according to sources speaking to The Sun.
A New Platform for the Youngest Beckham
The potential series would not only aim to document Brooklyn’s burgeoning culinary business but also, it’s hoped by Hulu executives, delve into the much-publicised fallout with his parents. This move would place Brooklyn directly in competition with Netflix, the platform that has recently aired highly successful documentaries about both his father and mother.
Hulu, owned by Disney, is home to globally popular shows like The Kardashians, a series that has propelled its subjects into a new level of fame and influence. A docuseries featuring Brooklyn and Nicola would undoubtedly aim for similar traction.
Sources close to the situation indicate that Brooklyn and Nicola have previously been offered substantial sums for interviews but have consistently declined. Their reported stance is that any future public statements will be made “on their own terms.” Furthermore, they are keen to assert their independence, making it clear they are not being dictated to by Nicola’s billionaire father, Nelson Peltz, and that all decisions are their own.
Nicola Peltz Beckham, an actress and socialite, has a pre-existing connection to Hulu, having appeared in several of their productions, including The Beauty and When the Streetlights Go On. Her father, Nelson Peltz, also has a significant business history, having once held a substantial stake in Disney.
