Brock Lesnar’s Return and Potential Retirement
Brock Lesnar is preparing for his in-ring return at Wrestlemania 42, where he will face Oba Femi. The former Universal Champion has not participated in a Wrestlemania since 2023 and will be making his first appearance at the biggest show of the year since Wrestlemania 39. Before this highly anticipated match, a former WWE manager made a bold prediction.
Dutch Mantel, known as Zeb Colter to the WWE audience, shared his thoughts on his podcast named Story Time. He suggested that if Oba Femi defeats Lesnar, it could signal the end of Lesnar’s career. “If (Oba Femi) beats him, yeah, I would say that that is a key that Brock is going to finish up before the year is out,” Mantel said. While nothing has been officially confirmed, there are speculations that Lesnar might retire at SummerSlam 2026.
Lesnar’s Recent Appearances
Brock Lesnar made a shocking return at SummerSlam 2025. He attacked John Cena and challenged him to a match at Wrestlepalooza. Lesnar defeated the 17-time world champion in a squash match.
Lesnar’s return came ahead of Survivor Series, where he led his team to a win at the WarGames match. He teamed up with The Vision and Drew McIntyre against Roman Reigns, CM Punk, The Usos, and Cody Rhodes.
Lesnar made another appearance at the Royal Rumble 2026. He eliminated Femi from the match, which teased a potential match between them. Lesnar also announced an open challenge for Wrestlemania on the road to the Show of the Shows.
WWE initially teased a Wrestlemania match between Lesnar and Seth Rollins. However, Femi answered his challenge, and they are now set to face off in one of the most anticipated matches. Femi is a former NXT Champion.
Potential Career Endings
While Femi will face Lesnar at Wrestlemania, there are other possibilities for Lesnar’s career. Gunther, the former World heavyweight Champion, has been retiring WWE veterans since 2025. He defeated Goldberg in his last WWE match at the July Saturday Night’s Main Event. Gunther also defeated John Cena in his farewell match in December 2025. The Ring General ended AJ Styles’ career by defeating him at the Royal Rumble 2026. It is possible that Lesnar’s career could also end at the hands of Gunther.
