NRLW Talent Shuffle: Bostock Joins Titans, Ciesiolka Lands at Dragons
The NRLW landscape is buzzing with recent player movements, leaving some fan bases elated and others deeply disappointed. A significant development that has sent ripples through the Brisbane Broncos community is the confirmed signing of rising star Indie Bostock with the Gold Coast Titans. This move dashed hopes of a potential ‘swap deal’ that many Broncos supporters had envisioned following the immediate release of Shenae Ciesiolka to the St. George Illawarra Dragons.
Bostock, a standout talent in the NRLW, made her debut with the Dragons last season and has already represented New South Wales in the Under-19s State of Origin. While hailing from the Illawarra region, the 19-year-old secured an early release from her contract to be closer to her boyfriend, Tevita Nefahu, and brother, Jack, both of whom play for the NRL’s Dolphins.
The Broncos faithful had been convinced that Bostock’s move north, coupled with Ciesiolka’s departure to the Dragons, would pave the way for Bostock to join the Brisbane club. However, these expectations were firmly put to rest when Bostock officially announced her commitment to the Gold Coast Titans for the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
Speaking about her decision, Bostock expressed her excitement for a fresh start. “I’m very excited, a brand new chapter, a new place to live,” she told The Courier Mail. “I grew up in the Dragons system and throughout the years I realised that was my home, that’s my family, and I thought, a brand new chapter, moving as far away as possible to what I’m used to and obviously Gold Coast is a nice place to live.”
She further elaborated on the importance of her support network. “The majority of my family is up here too – my partner, my brother, my dad and mum are always up here and my sister just moved up. This is kind of like a new home for me and thought it was the best option. Everyone needs a good support group playing NRL or NRLW. It’s a very hard sport to play and it gets emotional sometimes, so having that village to surround you and community to get you through the season, especially the pre-season, I’m excited to have that support.”
Broncos Face Centre Void After Key Departures
The Broncos now find themselves in a race against time to secure a new centre, having missed out on Bostock. Adding to their recruitment challenges, the club has also seen Mele Hufanga depart for the New Zealand Warriors. The loss of both Bostock and Hufanga leaves a significant gap in the Broncos’ backline.
Meanwhile, Shenae Ciesiolka embarks on a new chapter with the Dragons, having signed a substantial four-year deal. Ciesiolka, a seasoned player with an impressive resume, played 39 games for the Broncos, contributing to their NRLW premiership victories in 2020 and 2025. Her representative honours include 11 State of Origin games for Queensland and three Test caps for Australia.

The 28-year-old’s move to the Dragons comes after she was often utilised in a bench role during Brisbane’s successful premiership run last year. The Dragons’ coaching staff are clearly thrilled with the acquisition.
“It is massive for us to add Shenae to our squad,” commented Dragons coach Nathan Cross. “She’s accomplished a lot in this game and will add another dimension to our back-line. I think she will be a huge addition for us on and off the field. Her leadership and personality will mix in with our squad really well. We’re on an exciting journey here at the Dragons and it’s great to know Shenae will be a part of it.”

This period of player movement underscores the dynamic nature of the NRLW competition, with teams strategically bolstering their rosters ahead of upcoming seasons. The Dragons appear to have secured a proven performer in Ciesiolka, while the Titans have landed a promising young talent in Bostock, leaving the Broncos with the considerable task of rebuilding their centre stocks. The ripple effect of these signings will undoubtedly be felt across the league.
