Bruce Springsteen Slams ‘Incompetent’ Trump in Latest Tirade

Bruce Springsteen, the 76-year-old rock icon, delivered a powerful message about Donald Trump during his Land of Hope and Dreams Tour stop in Los Angeles. The performance took place at the Kia Forum in Inglewood on Tuesday, April 7. As he took the stage, Springsteen addressed the crowd with a strong and direct statement.

Springsteen launched into a scathing six-word attack on the former president, labeling him “corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless and treasonous.” This is not the first time the musician has targeted Trump. Throughout his tour, Springsteen has repeatedly criticized the former leader, warning that we are “living through some very dark times.”

Trump responded to the musician’s comments on Truth Social, making a personal jab at Springsteen’s appearance. He asked, “Is Bruce Springsteen going to sue his plastic surgeon?” This was just one of many attacks from the former president, who also claimed that Springsteen “looks like a dried up prune who has suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon.”

A Message of Hope and Resistance

Addressing the audience on Tuesday evening, Springsteen began with a heartfelt message. He said, “Good evening Los Angeles. Welcome to the Land of Hope and Dreams Tour. We want to begin the night with a prayer for our men and women in service overseas. We pray for their safe return.”

He continued by highlighting the importance of music and art during difficult times. “Now, the mighty E Street Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock ‘n’ roll, in dangerous times. We are here in celebration and defense of our American ideals, democracy, our Constitution,” he said.

The Born in the U.S.A. star then reflected on the America he loves. “The America I love, the America I’ve written about for 50 years that’s been a beacon of hope and liberty around the world is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless and treasonous administration.”

A Call for Unity and Truth

As the audience applauded, Springsteen urged them to stand together. “Tonight, we ask all of you to join with us in choosing hope over fear, democracy over authoritarianism, the rule of law over lawlessness, ethics over unbridled corruption, resistance over complacency, truth over lies, unity over division and peace over war.”

He then performed Edwin Starr’s iconic track “War,” emphasizing the need for change and unity. His recent remarks against Trump follow the president’s own attack on him via social media.

Trump’s Response and Continued Attacks

Following Springsteen’s performance, Trump posted on Truth Social, calling the singer “a bad, and very boring” artist. He added, “who looks like a dried up prune who has suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon.” Trump also accused Springsteen of having “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” which he referred to as TDS.

The former president continued by calling the musician “a total loser who spews hate.” He highlighted his own electoral achievements, claiming he won a “Landslide Election, including the popular vote, all Seven Swing States, an 86% of the Counties across America.”

Trump concluded his post by urging his followers to boycott Springsteen’s concerts. “MAGA SHOULD BOYCOTT HIS OVERPRICED CONCERTS, WHICH SUCK. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. AMERICA IS BACK!!! President DJT.”

A Continuing Battle of Words

In a subsequent post, Trump questioned, “Is Bruce Springsteen going to sue his plastic surgeon?” This outburst came just hours after Springsteen used his tour opener to criticize the president. During the show, Springsteen accused Trump of corruption and claimed he “can’t handle the truth.”

He also pointed out the struggles of working Americans while the president and his family enriched themselves. “While working Americans struggle, our president and his family enrich themselves by billions of dollars training on the people’s office in corruption unmatched in American history,” the singer said.

This ongoing exchange between Springsteen and Trump highlights the deep political divides in the country. As the tour continues, it seems clear that the musician will keep using his platform to speak out against what he sees as a threat to American values.
