Bruce Springsteen, the iconic American rock legend, delivered a powerful message to Donald Trump during his Land of Hope and Dreams Tour stop in Los Angeles. The 76-year-old musician took the stage at the Kia Forum in Inglewood on Tuesday, April 7, and used the opportunity to express his strong disapproval of the former president.
Springsteen’s remarks were direct and unfiltered. He described Trump as “corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless and treasonous.” This statement came as part of a broader critique of the current political climate, with Springsteen emphasizing the importance of standing up for American values such as democracy, freedom, and justice.
The Born in the U.S.A. singer has been vocal about his concerns throughout the tour, warning that the nation is “living through some very dark times.” His comments have not gone unnoticed, as Trump responded quickly on Truth Social, mocking Springsteen’s appearance and questioning whether he would sue his plastic surgeon. The president also accused the musician of suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome” and labeled him a “total loser who spews hate.”
Despite the controversy, Springsteen continued to focus on the positive message of his performance. During the concert, he addressed the audience, saying:
“Good evening Los Angeles. Welcome to the Land of Hope and Dreams Tour. We want to begin the night with a prayer for our men and women in service overseas. We pray for their safe return. Now, the mighty E Street Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock ‘n’ roll, in dangerous times. We are here in celebration and defense of our American ideals, democracy, our Constitution.”

He then spoke about the America he loves, highlighting its role as a beacon of hope and liberty around the world. However, he expressed concern about the current administration, stating that it is “corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless and treasonous.”
Springsteen encouraged the audience to stand up for their values, urging them to choose “hope over fear, democracy over authoritarianism, the rule of law over lawlessness, ethics over unbridled corruption, resistance over complacency, truth over lies, unity over division and peace over war.”
As part of the show, he performed Edwin Starr’s classic song “War,” reinforcing the themes of resistance and unity that have become central to his recent messages.
His comments against Trump followed a series of attacks from the former president, who criticized Springsteen’s appearance and claimed the musician had “a horrible and incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.” Trump also boasted about his own political success, claiming he won a “Landslide Election,” including the popular vote and all seven swing states.
In another post, Trump questioned whether Springsteen would take legal action against his plastic surgeon, adding to the ongoing feud between the two figures.
Springsteen’s criticism of Trump extended beyond words, as he also highlighted the economic struggles faced by working Americans. He accused the president of enriching himself and his family while “training on the people’s office in corruption unmatched in American history.”

Throughout the performance, Springsteen emphasized the need for unity and resistance against what he sees as a growing threat to American democracy. His message resonated with many in the audience, who cheered enthusiastically as he called for a return to core American values.
