A Glimpse into Celeste Barber’s Luxurious Lifestyle
Dazzling in an emerald-green gown, with her arm resting lightly on a $4000 custom Tasmanian oak dining table, Celeste Barber beamed at the camera. The beloved comedian, who split from the man fondly known as her “hot husband,” Api Robin, after 20 years in February, looked happy and relaxed as she posed up a storm in her Gold Coast home for a feature in Marie Claire Lifestyle.
Fans of the popular Aussie star will no doubt be relieved to see Celeste embracing the spotlight once again. For a while she went quiet – after Api took to Instagram to publicly declare: “After much reflection, the decision has been made to separate.” There is still love and respect between us,” he told the couple’s fans, “but sadly we are at capacity and have come to recognise we may want for different things.”
Days passed with no response from Celeste. Until March 10 rolled around and the star shared a message hidden within a post that was ostensibly about mascara from ber BOOIE Beauty range. “Thank you for all your messages. You’ve been really lovely, I appreciate it thank you,” she whispered in hushed tones at the end.
Even after that, the popular posts Celeste had traditionally shared on her social media channels – parodying celebrities as part of her “Celeste Challenge Accepted” series – remained scaled back for some time. Now however, it seems Celeste is back – not only posting candidly on her social media accounts, but letting the Australian public in on the multi-million dollar beachfront pad she calls her “sanctuary.”
“I just love going home, locking down, closing up those curtains and not leaving,” Celeste told Marie Claire Lifestyle in an interview to accompany the glamorous photoshoot. “Like, I rarely even have my girlfriends over and, while that is lovely, I’m not someone who ‘entertains’. I wish I had it in me – especially in this home. I’ve got big dreams of putting down a 20-seat table in the middle of the dining room … but that’s just not going to happen. I’m always on. I’m always out and doing things. So when I come home – especially to this home – I get really excited to just… do nothing.”
It’s perhaps no surprise that in spite of her global profile (Celeste’s Back Up Dancer European tour kicks off in Norway on April 8), the star appreciates life’s quieter moments. “I don’t want to be famous, I want to be successful,” Celeste told Body + Soul in a July 2024 interview. “I want people to resonate with the work I do as opposed to going, ‘There’s that girl that used to…’ I have zero interest in fame,” she added. “If anything, I don’t like it. When I meet fancy famous people, my husband thinks there’s something wrong with me because I don’t get starstruck.”
“When fame is a by-product, then you’re my person. Holding on to success and being happy with a level of success is just about as hard, if not harder, than getting it.”

Of course, despite Celeste’s discomfort with the trappings of fame, there’s no denying that it’s now a huge part of her life. And it has transformed her fortunes over the years too. In 2025 Celeste and Api, an arborist, sold a Central Coast home they bought in 2014 for $565,000, offloading it for $1.05 million. Along the way they snapped up their dream off-the-plan Coolangatta apartment for around $3.8 million.

It’s the kitchen of this stunning pad overlooking Rainbow Bay that’s the star of the show. “You know what? I have two dishwashers!” Celeste told Marie Claire Lifestyle. “One for glasses and one is for everything else, and it’s the best freaking thing in the world! We have a little sneaky butler’s pantry off to the side and that’s like a wet dream for me,” she added. “That’s where I do the smoothies for the boys every morning before school, and the sandwich press is in there too, so when you go out to the actual kitchen it looks super pretty because I throw everything into the butler’s.”

The kitchen island has also had a glow up – with a benchtop made from marble and striking, scalloped edges. “I put in a request to get the pinkest possible part of the stone that I could. And then where it joins above the oven, it looks like a vulva, which I love to remind my teenage boys at breakfast,” Celeste joked.
Quips aside, Celeste is navigating a period of profound change. So what’s next for the star? Could a move be on the cards now she and Api are no longer an item?
In February, the Courier Mail reported that the former couple had no immediate plans to list the Gold Coast property, or another Tweed Heads unit purchased in 2019. If the Gold Coast pad did get sold – agents suggest it could command a whopping $6 million price tag.
Pezet Matheson agent Mitchell Lambert told the Courier Mail that the apartment is on the best side of the building with an outlook worthy of a premium price. “It is on the superior side of the building in an incredible position looking out to Snapper Rocks with stunning views over the Norfolk pines, and you’ll see people like Mick Fanning surfing every day,” he said.
