A shocking case has emerged involving a couple from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, now facing serious felony charges in Nevada after allegedly exploiting a 14-year-old girl, forcing her to become pregnant with twins. Nathan Potier, 36, and his girlfriend Erica Palmer, 36, were apprehended earlier this week in Nevada as part of a multi-state investigation.
Potier has been charged with sexual assault of a child, while Palmer is accused of facilitating and enabling sexual abuse. Authorities allege the couple manipulated the young teenager to act as a surrogate, a deeply disturbing situation that has prompted an extensive investigation.
The Investigation Unfolds
The alarm was first raised in December when Child Protective Services alerted authorities. The teen, who was under the couple’s care, had become pregnant with twins. Court documents reveal that Potier is believed to be the father of the unborn children.
During questioning, Palmer reportedly confessed to police that she desired to have children with her boyfriend but was unable to conceive naturally due to having her tubes tied. This admission sheds light on the alleged motive behind the exploitation.
Detectives sought to confirm paternity by obtaining a DNA sample from Potier during one of the teen’s medical appointments. However, before this could be executed, both Potier and Palmer absconded from the state, complicating the investigation.
A Coordinated Apprehension
Law enforcement agencies pursued various leads across multiple jurisdictions to track down the couple. Their efforts culminated in a coordinated operation to bring them into custody.
On March 17, 2026, members of the United States Marshals Nevada Violent Offender Task Force successfully arrested Potier and Palmer in Sparks, Nevada. This significant arrest was the result of a collaborative effort involving the Regional Sex Offender Notification Unit (RSONU), which also comprises members of the Nevada Violent Offender Task Force, the United States Marshals Service, and the Nevada Department of Public Safety.
Facing Justice
Following their arrest, Potier and Palmer were transferred to the Washoe County Detention Facility. They are slated to be extradited to Oklahoma County to face the charges brought against them.
Authorities have emphasised their commitment to apprehending individuals who attempt to evade justice. “Through these joint operations, law enforcement remains focused on locating individuals attempting to avoid detection and ensuring they are held accountable,” a statement from law enforcement officials read.
The victim, the 14-year-old girl, is now reportedly in foster care, receiving support and protection. This case serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities of young people and the critical role of child protection services in safeguarding them from exploitation. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected to emerge as the legal proceedings advance.
