In a candid social media announcement on February 21st, Indian Premier League (IPL) player Rahul Chahar revealed the formal end of his marriage to fashion designer Ishani Johar. Chahar, who is currently part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad, tied the knot at a relatively young age of 22 in 2022, after dating Johar since 2019. The union, which lasted for approximately four years, has now concluded after a significant legal process.

After due legal process, the matter has been settled with my resolution, which cost a lot, bringing finality to this phase of my life.” Chahar emphasized his approach to this conclusion, noting, “I close this chapter not with anger or regret, but with clarity. Rahul Chahar’s professional cricket career has seen him represent several franchises in the IPL. After initially going unsold in the first round of the 2026 mini-auction, he was acquired by the Chennai Super Kings for INR 5.20 crore in the accelerated round. Throughout his IPL tenure, he has played for four different teams, with his most impactful period being with the Mumbai Indians. In the 2025 season, he played a single match for Sunrisers Hyderabad, remaining wicketless.
