Demi Lovato Postpones Tour Start, Cancels Five Shows to Prioritise Health and Rehearsals
American singer Demi Lovato has announced significant changes to her upcoming tour, cancelling five scheduled concerts and postponing the tour’s commencement. The decision, the 33-year-old artist explained in a candid social media post, stems from a need to “rest and rehearse” to ensure she can deliver her best performance to fans.
Lovato, who began her career as a child star on “Barney & Friends” before gaining wider recognition in the “Camp Rock” film series and releasing her debut album “Don’t Forget” in 2008, has had a prolific career. She has since released eight more albums, served as a judge on “The X Factor,” and been the subject of three documentaries that bravely explored her personal struggles with eating disorders, substance abuse, and self-harm. Her latest album, “It’s Not That Deep,” was released late last year, and the accompanying tour was slated to begin in Orlando, Florida, on April 10th.
However, the tour’s itinerary has undergone adjustments. In a lengthy statement addressing her dedicated fanbase, known as “Lovatics,” Lovato expressed her enthusiasm for returning to the stage. She revealed that as preparations for the tour began, she realised she had “overextended what may be possible.”

“To protect my health and ensure I can give you my all at each show, I need to build in more time to rest and rehearse and ultimately adjust to a schedule with some more time off that will allow me to handle the entire run of the tour,” she explained. This proactive approach aims to safeguard her well-being while guaranteeing a high-quality experience for concertgoers.
The five concerts that will no longer be proceeding are those planned for Charlotte, Nashville, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and Denver. Lovato conveyed her deep regret to fans who had made arrangements to attend these now-cancelled shows. “I am so sad to say that I will no longer be able to see you on this tour, and I am so sorry to those who planned to be there,” she stated. The Orlando show, however, will proceed as rescheduled, with the new kick-off date set for April 13th.
Initially, Demi was scheduled to perform in Charlotte, North Carolina, on April 8th; Atlanta, Georgia, on April 12th; Nashville, Tennessee, on April 14th; Denver, Colorado, on May 5th; and Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 8th.
Ticketing and Refunds for Affected Shows
For fans holding tickets to the cancelled performances, Lovato’s statement provided information regarding refunds. If tickets were purchased directly through official platforms like Ticketmaster or AXS, refunds are reportedly being processed automatically.
However, those who acquired tickets from third-party resellers, such as StubHub or SeatGeek, were advised to contact those specific platforms directly to initiate the refund process.

Concluding her message, Lovato reiterated her excitement for the upcoming tour and encouraged fans to check demilovato.com/tour for any additional ticket availability. “I am so excited for this tour and am looking forward to seeing so many of your faces singing with me. Thank you for your support always. I love you and I cannot wait to see you soon,” she wrote, reinforcing her appreciation for her supporters.
The revised tour schedule now commences on April 13th and is set to run until May 12th. During this period, Lovato is scheduled to perform in 17 US cities, with an additional stop in Toronto. The tour is slated to conclude in Houston, Texas.

A History of Touring and Health Considerations
This upcoming tour follows Lovato’s extensive 2022 tour, which comprised 34 shows in support of her eighth album, “Holy Fvck.” However, the singer has previously been vocal about the physical demands of life on the road. In a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she remarked, “It takes a toll on your body. I’m not 15 anymore.”
This sentiment echoes a statement made two years prior, when Lovato had expressed her intention to step back from touring, writing on social media, “I can’t do this anymore. This next tour will be my last. I love and thank you guys.” These past comments highlight a long-standing consideration of her physical and mental well-being in relation to extensive touring commitments.
Throughout her career, Demi Lovato has achieved significant commercial success, selling over 24 million records in the United States. Her accolades include an MTV Video Music Award, fourteen Teen Choice Awards, and five People’s Choice Awards, underscoring her enduring popularity and impact on the music industry.
