Democratic Party Announces Hearing on Coupang Data Leak
The Democratic Party of Korea has announced plans to hold a hearing regarding the recent data leak incident involving Coupang, one of the country’s largest e-commerce platforms. The hearing is scheduled to take place on the 30th and 31st of this month, spanning two days. During a press conference held at the National Assembly, Heo Young, the Chief Policy Deputy Floor Leader of the Democratic Party, outlined the details of the upcoming hearing. These include the Science, ICT, Broadcasting and Communications Committee (SIBCC), the National Policy Committee, the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, and the Climate, Energy, Environment, and Labor Committee. Heo Young explained that the hearing will involve a total of 12 members. Specifically, six members will be selected from the SIBCC, which is the main standing committee, while two members each will be drawn from the other participating committees.
