Dr. Talei took to Instagram to present the striking visual evidence, juxtaposing images of Richards prior to the surgery with those taken afterward. The results speak volumes: a noticeably lifted brow, a more sculpted and taut jawline, and an overall rejuvenated facial contour that exudes a refreshed vitality.
Dr. Talei expressed his honour in assisting Richards, describing her as “one of the most lovely and beautiful people to ever walk this earth.” He also commended her openness about the procedure, acknowledging the personal challenges she has navigated. “I’m so grateful to Denise for being so open about the procedure,” he stated. “She’s been through so much this past year and her resilience is just astounding.”
Richards herself admitted to Allure magazine that the prospect of surgery had initially filled her with trepidation. However, her desire for a more youthful look ultimately outweighed her fears. The comprehensive facial rejuvenation undertaken by Dr. Talei extended beyond a standard facelift. The procedures included:
- Temporal Brow Lift: This technique aims to lift the outer portion of the eyebrows, creating a more open and youthful eye area.
- Upper Blepharoplasty: Commonly known as an eyelid lift, this surgery removes excess skin and fat from the upper eyelids, reducing drooping and restoring a more alert appearance.
- Lip Lift: This procedure enhances the shape and fullness of the lips, often by subtly shortening the distance between the nose and the upper lip.
- Fat Grafting: Utilising the patient’s own fat, this technique is used to restore volume and contour to specific areas of the face, addressing volume loss and creating a smoother, more youthful look.
Adding to her recent cosmetic procedures, Richards also revealed that she underwent a reparative breast surgery just three weeks prior to her facelift. This period of recovery was particularly challenging, as it occurred less than two weeks before the commencement of her highly publicised and acrimonious divorce proceedings with estranged husband Aaron Phypers in July 2025.
“I started going through my divorce 10 days after I had surgery,” Richards disclosed, underscoring the immense personal fortitude required to manage such significant life events concurrently.
The actress further alleged that her ex-husband was responsible for prematurely leaking information about her surgeries to the public before she was ready to share the news. She recounted an incident where, after an appointment for microneedling on her scars, a photographer, allegedly alerted by Phypers, appeared.
“So he told someone that I had a facelift and said it was botched, which is really ridiculous,” Richards stated, expressing her frustration at the unfounded rumours. “You know, I went back and forth about whether I was going to say anything about my facelift — um, he kind of let the cat out of the bag.”
Following their separation last summer, Richards levelled accusations of abuse against Phypers, claims that he has consistently and vehemently denied. The legal battle surrounding their divorce remains ongoing. In a recent court hearing, Richards was ordered to provide temporary spousal support of $5,000 per month to her estranged husband.
Phypers himself is facing serious legal challenges, with four felony counts against him, including two counts of injuring a spouse and two counts of dissuading a witness by force or threat, stemming from alleged domestic violence incidents in 2022. In late 2025, Richards was granted a five-year restraining order against him, further highlighting the tumultuous nature of their separation.
