New This Week
One of the most anticipated releases this week is Vanderpump Villa Season 3, which will be available from 16 April. The American reality TV show sees Lisa Vanderpump moving her staff from the previous locations in France (Season 1) and Italy (Season 2) to Rosecroft Park in Newport Pagnell, UK. Another standout release this week is The Testaments, which became available on 8 April. Based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name, this series is an evolution of The Handmaid’s Tale. If It’s Tuesday… It’s Murder was released on 31 March. This brand new Spanish original series from Disney+ and Hulu follows an eclectic group of Spanish tourists staying at a once-grand hotel in Lisbon that is now in disrepair. When one of the travelers is found dead, four others set out to uncover the truth behind the murder, leading them through a web of secrets, suspects, and personal revelations.
Will Trent Season 4 was released on 18 March. Based on Karin Slaughter’s bestselling books, the series follows Special Agent Will Trent (played by Ramón Rodríguez) of the Georgia Bureau of Investigations. In Season 4, the story picks up a few months after the events of the previous season, with Atlanta reeling from a near-bioterrorist disaster. Will must confront a figure from his past who has escaped prison, forcing him to defy orders and embark on a search that threatens to destroy everything he has built.
Finally, Rental Family was released on 18 March. This film, set in modern-day Tokyo, stars Brendan Fraser as an American actor struggling to find purpose until he lands a unique gig working for a Japanese ‘rental family’ agency. As he immerses himself in his clients’ lives, he begins to form genuine bonds that challenge his understanding of performance and reality. The film explores the moral complexities of his work and the quiet beauty of human connection.
