A Night of Glamour and Triumph at the Olivier Awards
The Olivier Awards, the UK’s most prestigious theatre awards, celebrated its 50th anniversary in style on Sunday evening at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The event brought together an array of star-studded talent, with some of the biggest names in entertainment gracing the red carpet. From iconic actors to rising stars, the night was a dazzling showcase of theatrical excellence.
Elizabeth Hurley, 60, made a striking appearance alongside her boyfriend Billy Ray Cyrus and son Damian. She dazzled in a plunging white dress with a wrap detail, her brunette hair styled in a bouncy blowout and adorned with glamorous makeup and silver jewellery. Her presence added a touch of timeless elegance to the evening.
Rosamund Pike, 47, stole the spotlight by winning the Best Actress award for her role as a high-stakes judge in Inter Alia at Wyndham’s Theatre in the West End. This win came after she beat out formidable contenders including Cate Blanchett, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Julia McDermott, Rosamund Pike (herself), and Rosie Sheehy.
Rosamund, who is known for her screen roles in films like Die Another Day and Gone Girl, described her return to the stage as a “huge, exhilarating risk.” In her acceptance speech, she reflected on the challenges of performing live theatre, stating, “It is one thing to stand on stage and do 100 minutes of somebody else’s beautifully written words. It is quite another thing to be relying on my own words.”
Rachel Zegler, 34, also made a memorable appearance, winning the Best Actress in a Musical award for her role in Evita at The London Palladium. She looked stunning in a Tamara Ralph Haute Couture strapless black dress with gold chains, her black hair flowing loose and her make-up dramatic.
Cate Blanchett, 56, was nominated for Best Actress for her performance in The Seagull but missed out on the prize. However, she was present at the ceremony, adding to the evening’s star power.
Tom Hiddleston, 45, and his fiancée Zawe Ashton were among the couples making headlines. The pair posed for photos, their love on full display. Zawe captivated the crowd in a dramatic red ruffled gown featuring feathers, a plunging neckline, and a coordinating ribbon. Tom, who recently starred in the 2025 West End production of Much Ado About Nothing, looked dashing in a classic black tuxedo.
Emma Willis, 50, turned heads in a daringly plunging black dress that left little to the imagination. Meanwhile, Busted star Matt, 42, who is currently starring in Cabaret in London’s West End, cut a sharp figure in a tailored suit. The couple, who married in 2008, are parents to three children: Isabelle, 16, Ace, 14, and nine-year-old Trixie.
Tom Fletcher, 40, and his wife Giovanna arrived in style, showcasing a suave new look. The musician, whose West End smash Paddington received 11 nominations, looked dapper in a blue velvet blazer. His wife, dressed in a plunging navy gown, complemented his ensemble perfectly.
Nick Mohammed, actor, comedian, and The Traitors star, hosted the event, which was broadcast on the BBC. The ceremony featured a mix of heartfelt speeches, exciting announcements, and unforgettable performances.
