Graham Norton’s “The Neighbourhood” Promises a High-Stakes Street Game Show
Get ready for a brand-new reality television experience as Graham Norton gears up to launch his latest venture, “The Neighbourhood.” Set to premiere next month on ITV1 and ITVX, this 11-part series transforms everyday suburban life into a thrilling, large-scale game show, with a staggering £250,000 prize up for grabs.
The premise is simple yet captivating: six real households from across the United Kingdom will be pitted against each other in a competition dubbed ‘Keep Your Enemies Close’. These families will be vying for supremacy in a street-wide popularity contest, where the last house standing walks away with the life-changing sum.
“The Neighbourhood” aims to blend the drama of domestic life with the excitement of a grand competition. ITV has stated that the series “marries high-stakes competition, epic challenges and relatable domestic drama, to offer a completely fresh flavour of reality.” The network teases, “In The Neighbourhood, it’s not about keeping up with the Joneses – it’s about beating them. Bring on the ding dong!”

A Familiar Face Takes the Helm
The beloved presenter Graham Norton, aged 62, was officially confirmed as the host for “The Neighbourhood” back in February 2025. Norton, known for his quick wit and engaging interview style, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, telling The Sun at the time, “Like everyone, I’m always intrigued by what goes on behind closed doors. Add to that some dastardly challenges and a life-changing prize and I’m hooked. I feel confident that The Neighbourhood will be the nation’s favourite destination.”
Norton is no stranger to the television landscape. He is widely recognised for his eponymous BBC chat show, a staple for Friday night entertainment, and his insightful commentary on the Eurovision Song Contest. He also has a history with ITV, currently fronting the revived “Wheel of Fortune” for the broadcaster.
Norton Defends Claudia Winkleman Amidst Chat Show Backlash
The announcement of “The Neighbourhood” comes at a time when Graham Norton has also publicly defended fellow presenter Claudia Winkleman. Winkleman recently launched her new BBC chat show, “The Claudia Winkleman Show,” which debuted to an audience of over 1.4 million. However, the reception from critics was reportedly “mixed,” with some describing the show as “mess,” a “bore,” and a “huge mistake.”
Norton, whose production company So Television is behind Winkleman’s new programme, has staunchly defended her performance. Speaking to the Mail’s Eden Confidential at the Michael Josephson Farewell Charity Ball in Manchester, he asserted that Winkleman “nailed it.”
He elaborated on his defence: “What Claudia did was the Claudia Winkleman show, and that’s what she’s supposed to be doing. She shouldn’t be trying to be me. She should be trying to be Claudia, and she nailed that.”

“The Claudia Winkleman Show,” fronted by the star of “The Traitors,” adopts a format similar to Norton’s own chat show, but with a more “moody, after-hours vibe.”
“The Neighbourhood” is slated to begin its run this April on ITV1, ITVX, STV, and STV Player, promising a unique blend of competition and relatable family dynamics.
