A Luxury Take on the iPhone 17 Pro Max
The iPhone 17 Pro Max, with a retail price of up to £1,999, is already one of the most expensive smartphones available. However, this price is nothing compared to a new luxury version that has recently hit the market. Designed by Caviar, this special edition smartphone is called the ‘Jobs’ and is a tribute to Apple’s late co-founder, Steve Jobs.
A Tribute to Steve Jobs
The name ‘Jobs’ is a clear homage to the man who helped shape Apple’s legacy. What makes this device even more unique is the inclusion of a piece of Steve Jobs’ iconic black turtleneck in the back of the phone. According to Caviar, the turtleneck fragment was taken from a presentation of the NeXT computer and comes with an authentication certificate.
“This detail elevates the smartphone into a museum-worthy collector’s piece, where Apple’s technological legacy meets a tangible trace of the man who shaped its destiny,” the company states. “A tribute to the beginning of a great story and a rare homage to the era from which a modern legend was born.”
Price and Features
Unsurprisingly, the ‘Jobs’ isn’t cheap. The price range for this exclusive model is between $9,630 and $11,560 (£7,235–£8,685). The device is crafted using a titanium frame with a PVD coating. In the back, there’s a small piece of Jobs’ turtleneck embedded in the Apple emblem, along with his signature. When you turn the device on, it features a custom wallpaper that reads ‘Apple 50’.
This special edition is part of a series of three limited-edition iPhones released by Caviar to celebrate Apple’s 50th anniversary on April 1. The other two models are the ‘Gold Apple’ and the ‘Black Apple’.
Other Special Editions
The ‘Gold Apple’ features a 3D Apple logo made entirely from 18-karat gold. This luxurious design comes with a price tag of $8,200–$10,130 (£6,160–£7,610). Meanwhile, the ‘Black Apple’ is made from marble carbon and has a black Apple logo crafted from aerospace-grade titanium. It costs between $6,770 and $8,770 (£5,085–£7,610).
Caviar has only produced nine ‘Jobs’ models, 50 ‘Gold Apple’ units, and 50 ‘Black Apple’ devices. These are all limited editions, so potential buyers will need to act quickly if they’re interested in acquiring one.
More Options from Caviar
If the Apple-themed range doesn’t appeal to you, Caviar offers hundreds of other options on its website. For example, fans of the movie The Untouchables might prefer the ‘Capone’, a $11,560 version of the iPhone 17 Pro Max featuring the phrase “Never stop fighting until the battle is over” on the back.
For those with a fascination for prehistoric creatures, the ‘Tyrannophone’ could be the perfect choice. This £6,830 version of the iPhone 13 Pro Max includes a fragment of a real 80-million-year-old T.Rex tooth embedded in the back.
