A mysterious figure, known only as Mr Collage, has captured the attention of art enthusiasts and the general public alike. He is British, believed to be in his early 30s, and always wears a mask. However, this isn’t a disguise for a DJ or musician—it’s the identity of an artist who has chosen to remain anonymous.
Mr Collage has built his entire persona around the concept of masking one’s true self. He explains, “By embodying Mr Collage I’ve become a symbol for those who feel trapped inside the fake version of themselves.” His message resonates with many who feel they must hide their authentic selves to fit into societal expectations.

His artistic expression is unique, not just in concept but in execution. Mr Collage uses a hand-adhered collage mask that takes around six hours to assemble. This intricate creation is a testament to his dedication and creativity. His work, including the mask, has gained international recognition, appearing in cities such as Miami, Los Angeles, Dubai, and across Europe and Asia.
Despite his growing fame, Mr Collage remains focused on his mission. He charges between £80 ($100) for mystery boxes and designer items that can sell for around £4,700 ($6,000). Some of his pieces, like a fully collaged BMW i8, have sold for millions.
Before becoming a recognized artist, Mr Collage had a diverse career. He has held over 50 jobs, served in the Air Force, and worked in the creative industry for more than 15 years. His travels have taken him to over 40 countries, and he has collaborated with major global names long before launching his own brand.

The turning point in his life came through faith. “I decided to go fully in on myself after God told me I needed to,” he said. This spiritual awakening led to rapid success. Mr Collage shares his work on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, where his short-form videos often highlight the painstaking process behind his art.
In one viral clip, he admitted that wearing the elaborate mask for hours isn’t comfortable, but he believes the impact is worth it.

One of his most ambitious projects to date is a fully collaged BMW i8. “I spent over 500 hours on it, working every day for 10 weeks,” he explained. The car features over 20,000 individual pieces torn by hand and adhered onto it.
Mr Collage is married to Olivia, and the couple homeschools their children. They travel together as a family when he is working on commissions. “My wife has sacrificed a lot to keep it all in the family,” he said. “Liv and our kids all think it’s awesome. She told me to pursue it more than anyone.”

While some of his family thinks he is insane, Mr Collage embraces the judgment. “I love all the ideas and judgment around it; it just solidifies what I’m doing.” As his profile grows, so does the demand for his work, from accessible collectables to high-end statement pieces.
Fans have started comparing him to other famous anonymous artists, such as Banksy. “Being compared to Banksy or greats is sick,” he said. “I wanna go down as one of the greats.”
Mr Collage’s mission goes beyond art. He aims to challenge what people idolise, such as celebrity culture and materialism. He recalls a moment when a fellow collage artist slid into his DMs with a blunt message: “Not impressed.” Rather than responding angrily, he explained, “I’m not in competition with anyone but myself.”
He believes that insecurity comes from looking outside oneself for validation. “I know who I am, and building that out is all that matters to me.”
Looking ahead, Mr Collage plans to take over Europe and Asia, with increasingly ambitious projects in mind. “Maybe doing an entire plane, licensing and IP, and major partnerships,” he said. “This is just the beginning at the starting line. The gun hasn’t even gone off.”
