Jenny McCarthy and Donnie Wahlberg Surrender to Faith: ‘We Trust the Path’

Jenny McCarthy has always believed in the power of prayer. The former Scream 3 actress, now 53, recently appeared on a new episode of the Heal Squad podcast hosted by Maria Menounos. During the interview, she opened up about how her and husband Donnie Wahlberg have become more religious in recent years.

A Deepening Faith

McCarthy shared that whenever she faces a tough week, she turns to prayer. “I’ll put on my Christian playlist and it’s the best medicine you could ever take,” she said. She encouraged others to turn to faith when they’re feeling down or lost. “If you’re depressed or have nowhere to turn, I would invite anyone to turn towards faith,” she added.

The former Playboy cover model also spoke about the impact of prayer in her life. “It’s done miraculous things in my life,” she said. She mentioned that she gives herself “Jesus time-outs” when dealing with anxiety. “Prayer for me has done such wonders,” she continued.

McCarthy was raised in an Irish Catholic household and attended Catholic school as a child. However, she now identifies as “more Christian” and describes herself as a “follower of Christ.”

A Shared Spiritual Journey

McCarthy and Wahlberg have made their spiritual journey a shared one. “We’ve surrendered. We really have given our life to the Lord and are just trusting the path, and honoring what we’re here to do through him,” she said.

The couple, who married in 2014, have also spoken about their faith in interviews. They were recently seen at the 2026 iHeartRadio Awards, where they discussed their beliefs with Fox News.

A Unique Date Night

One of their favorite ways to spend time together is watching the biblical drama The Chosen. “Date night for us though typically looks like… we make a big plan, we’re about to get ready, and then we say, ‘Ah, let’s stay in and watch The Chosen,'” Wahlberg joked.

McCarthy chimed in, adding, “And then we watch The Chosen. That’s kind of like date nights nowadays.” She laughed, “Yeah, yeah, yeah. It’s definitely takeout and sitting back.”

Balancing Fame and Family

Despite their long careers in Hollywood, McCarthy and Wahlberg still enjoy attending major events. “Well, date night… this is a fun night for us! You know what I mean? I said to Donnie, the fact that we’ve got some 50-year-olds in the house still being asked to present is not too shabby!” she said.

She reflected on how far she’s come since her days on MTV. “Back in my days of MTV, I was a little 20-something going like, ‘Oh my god!’ Now I’m in my 50s going, ‘OK, we’re still here, we’re presenting, you’re still a rock star.'”

A Lasting Connection

The couple continues to show their love and support for each other, both on and off the screen. Their bond has only strengthened over the years, and they remain committed to their shared values and faith.

Whether it’s watching The Chosen or attending high-profile events, McCarthy and Wahlberg prove that love and spirituality can go hand in hand. Their journey serves as an inspiration to many, showing that even in the spotlight, finding peace and purpose through faith can be a powerful force.
