A New Chapter for Jesse Wood
Jesse Wood, the 49-year-old musician and son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, is expecting a baby with his girlfriend Gemma Gregory. This exciting news comes just 16 months after his split from Fearne Cotton, a well-known broadcaster. The couple shared the announcement through an Instagram post on Thursday, showcasing their growing family.
Gemma displayed her baby bump in a crop top, captioning the photo “incoming.” She also shared another image with Jesse, captioned “made by these muppets.” This marks a new chapter in Gemma’s life, as she already has an 11-year-old son from a previous relationship. Jesse, on the other hand, has four children: two with Fearne and two with his first wife, Tilly Wood.
Despite this joyful news, the financial struggles of Jesse have recently come to light. Following his divorce from Fearne, he has been dealing with significant financial challenges. His business, Rekognition Sound Limited, is in severe debt, with only £10,943 in its bank account and £111,903 owed to creditors. Recent accounts show that the company is £101,562 in the red, a sharp increase from the previous year’s £56,211 deficit.
Jesse’s financial troubles were further highlighted when he appeared in court for a speeding charge in January. He revealed that he was living on barely £1,000 a month and struggling to find work. He also mentioned that he was due to be employed in 2024, but the opportunity was delayed. His most recent tax return showed an annual income of around £14,000, which led to a six-month driving ban and £255 in fines.
Another challenge for Jesse is the lack of property security. His former marital home in Richmond, south-west London, is registered solely in Fearne’s name, meaning he has no legal claim to the £3.15 million house she purchased in 2014. The couple shares two children, Rex, 12, and Honey, nine.
Born into a family of rock royalty, Jesse followed in his father’s footsteps by pursuing a career in music. He has worked as a guitarist for various bands and projects over the years, including Reef. However, his business interests have not been as successful as his father’s. In October 2025, he stepped down as a director of Reef Band LLP, which had a deficit of £710. He had also previously resigned as a director of Tribe Festivals in 2002.
Jesse’s financial issues became public as he faced a possible driving ban, having accumulated nine penalty points from previous speeding offenses. Despite these challenges, he has found love again with Gemma, who he began dating publicly in April. Their relationship progressed quickly following the collapse of his marriage to Fearne in December 2024.
Fearne, who is now in a relationship with television director Elliot Hegarty, shared a personal update by showing off her new lighter blonde hair. Meanwhile, Jesse’s mother-in-law, Jo Wood, expressed surprise at the split but remained hopeful for both Jesse and Fearne’s future. She said, “I hope Fearne will be very happy. I’m sure Jesse’s going to be very happy. These things work out.”
Gemma, the daughter of actor Paul Gregory, has a history of relationships with notable figures, including Henry Brett, a captain of the England polo team. Jesse, who has dated celebrities like Kate Moss and Kate Hudson, has not spoken publicly about his split from Fearne. However, Fearne addressed the issue during an appearance on Lorraine last March, stating, “It’s all very amicable and the kids are doing great. I am in a very good place.”
