Jordan Davis: Irish Roots, Wild Love

Jordan Davis: A Country Star’s Love Story with Irish Roots

Country music sensation Jordan Davis has a knack for weaving compelling love stories into his songs, a talent perhaps honed by his own real-life romance, which reads like a page straight out of a classic novel. As the singer gears up for a string of European performances, including a stop in Belfast on February 20th, his decade-long relationship with his wife, Kristen, offers a heartwarming glimpse into a love that has inspired both his music and his life.

Deep Irish Connections Uncovered

The Davis family’s ties to the Emerald Isle became particularly prominent with the arrival of their youngest daughter in 2025. They chose the name Sadie for their new arrival, a moniker that resonates deeply with Irish heritage and is quite popular in Ireland. This choice wasn’t arbitrary; it stemmed from Kristen’s family’s strong Irish lineage.

“My wife’s family is from Cork,” Jordan shared. “Her dad was the first O’Connor that was born in the States, so there’s very much a love for Ireland on that side [of the family].” The family maintains a strong connection, with Kristen’s father’s side of the family making regular trips to visit relatives in the Cork region. While Jordan himself hasn’t yet made the pilgrimage to Cork, it’s firmly on his travel agenda, with a particular fondness for the idea of a golfing trip with his father-in-law.

“Me and my father-in-law have a big golf trip in the plans, and so maybe in a year where we slow down touring-wise, we’ll be able to get over,” he explained. “I would love to get over and my wife is really wanting to get over as well, to see some family she’s never seen and visit places like where her grandmother was born.”

A Romance Forged in Wedding Season

Jordan and Kristen’s journey together began under serendipitous circumstances, a tale that rivals any romantic comedy. Having been together for ten years and married for seven, their meeting story is one of those “you won’t believe it” moments.

“It’s kind of a wild one,” Jordan recounted. Their paths first crossed at two different weddings happening concurrently in Louisiana. Jordan’s college roommate was getting married in Houma, a town just outside of New Orleans. Coincidentally, Kristen, who hails from Virginia, had a college roommate from New Orleans whose wedding was scheduled for the same weekend. Both wedding parties ended up staying at the same hotel.

The meet-cute unfolded in the hotel lobby. “I met my wife in the lobby of the hotel and talked to her for a little bit, we kind of hung out that night, then they went to their wedding, we went to ours,” Jordan recalled. The connection, however, was strong enough to alter his travel plans. “The next day I was flying out of New Orleans, and I went in [to the city] a couple of hours early to go get something to eat. I walked into a restaurant and her and her friends were in the restaurant and I saw her.”

Recognizing her from the previous night, Jordan made a spontaneous decision. “I was like, “that’s the girl from last night at the hotel”. I ended up changing my flight, I stayed down in New Orleans with them for two days and it was all downhill from there, if you ask her!” he chuckled. “It was a very random meeting in a little bitty town in Louisiana, it was pretty wild.”

Building a Family and a Career

Following their chance encounter, Jordan and Kristen navigated a long-distance relationship for a few months before Kristen relocated to Nashville. They exchanged vows in March 2017, celebrating their union on Shelter Island in New York.

Their family quickly began to grow. Their eldest daughter, Eloise Larkin, was born in 2019. She was later joined by their son, Locklan Joseph, in 2021, and then Elijah Patrick in 2023. The arrival of their youngest, Sadie, in 2025, further solidified the family’s Irish heritage, as reflected in their children’s names.

Balancing the demands of a burgeoning music career with family life is a constant juggling act. Jordan admits that elements of his family life inevitably find their way into his songwriting. When asked how Kristen feels about this, he laughed.

“I don’t even know if she likes my music if I’m being honest,” he joked. “When we were dating, maybe she was just trying to act interested. I’d come home from the studio, and she’d be like “oh, I want to hear it” and now I’ve written four times this week, and I got home from work every day, and there was no “hey, what’d you write? I want to hear it.” She’s just like “hey, Locklan’s got to be here and Sadie’s got to do this tomorrow”. It’s straight into parenting.” Despite the playful banter, he added, “But I guess, she’s still married to me, so she must like my music enough.”

On the Road Again: A European Adventure

Jordan is currently embarking on his 2026 European tour, a significant undertaking that will see him perform in various cities across the continent. The tour kicks off in Belfast on February 20th, followed by stops in Glasgow, Manchester, London, and Birmingham. He’s also scheduled to perform at the C2C Festival in Rotterdam and Berlin before taking a two-week break and heading to New Zealand.

“I’m stoked, this is a huge tour for us,” Jordan expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming shows. While the setlist is largely finalised, he confessed to being a last-minute packer. Being away from his family is undoubtedly challenging, but Jordan finds solace in knowing they are his biggest cheerleaders, and he anticipates plenty of FaceTime calls to keep him connected to his “home team” while on the road.
