Katy Perry Denies Ruby Rose’s Sexual Assault Claims
Katy Perry has strongly denied allegations made by Hollywood actress Ruby Rose, calling them ‘dangerous lies’. The controversy began when Rose claimed that Perry sexually assaulted her during a night out at a nightclub in Australia. The 40-year-old star of Orange Is the New Black stated that the incident occurred when she was in her twenties.
Perry, now 41, is accused of ‘rubbing her vagina on [Rose’s] face’. After keeping quiet for two decades, Rose filed a police report on April 13, 2026. A representative for Perry responded to the claims, stating: ‘The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false, they are dangerous reckless lies.’ They also noted that Rose has a history of making public allegations against various individuals, which have been repeatedly denied by those named.

Perry’s response followed reports that she was shocked by the allegations, with a source telling The Sun that the celebrities have a complicated backstory and were never close friends. However, the latest development came as a ‘massive shock to everyone’.
Rose first made her claims in an Instagram comment responding to Perry’s critique of Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance. Perry had commented on a Complex Music post: ‘Thank God he has [YouTube] Premium. I don’t wanna see no ads.’ In response, Rose said: ‘Katy Perry assaulted me at Spice Market nightclub in Melbourne. Who gives a s**t what she thinks.’

Following this, Rose shared more details of the alleged assault on Threads, claiming she stayed silent because Perry helped her acquire a US visa, including writing and signing letters of recommendation for her application in the 2010s. She wrote: ‘After it I threw up on her. I told the story publicly but changed it to be a “funny little drunk story” because I didn’t know how else to handle it. Later she agreed to help me get my US visa. So I kept it a secret.’
‘But I DID tell yall she wasn’t a good person. Instead I got attacked by.. everyone.’
A fan replied to Rose, saying they ‘stand with [her]’, to which Rose responded: ‘I was only in my early 20s. I’m now 40. It has taken almost 2 decades to say this publicly.’ She concluded: ‘Though I am so grateful to have made it long enough to find my voice, it just shows how much of an impact trauma and sexual assault takes. Thank you for seeing me.’
Quoting Perry’s famous lyrics, another user quipped, ‘She kissed a girl and you didn’t like it?’, with Rose clarifying: ‘She didn’t kiss me. She saw me “resting” on my best friend’s lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.’

Rose then invited Perry to respond, stating: ‘She is more than welcome to sue me (she won’t, because it happened, I have photos and it was literally in public and witnessed by multiple people).’ She also accused Perry of ‘psychological manipulation’, claiming there was ‘so much more that happened in the years leading up to her silly song she won’t want [her] discussing’.
At the time, Rose was close with Taylor Swift, appearing in her Bad Blood music video. When Perry released Swish Swish in 2017, fans speculated that it was a retaliatory nod to Swift. Rose later backtracked, writing: ‘Being mean doesn’t suit me and leaves me feeling dirty.’ She added: ‘Get so triggered when I think bullies don’t get held accountable and it makes me think I should say something.. but it’s not place.’
In a subsequent tweet, she wrote: ‘I have always believed strongly that Karma exists and the truth always surfaces however I’m not god and I can’t decide when or how that is.’
As for her latest allegations, Rose is said to have officially reported the matter to the police, writing on social media that she ‘just left the police station’ this afternoon.
