Kim Zolciak’s legal troubles are escalating. The star of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, who is 47 years old, has lost temporary custody of her four children with Kroy Biermann until she completes court-mandated therapy. This decision was reported by a news outlet on Friday, April 3.
Custody Ruling and Children’s Current Situation
On April 3, a Georgia judge ruled that the couple’s four minor children — Kroy Jagger “KJ” Jr., 14, Kash Kade, 13, and twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren, 12 — will remain with their father, 40, until Zolciak attends four parent therapy sessions.
Zolciak is also the mother of two adult daughters, Brielle, 29, and Ariana, 24, from a previous relationship. The earliest she will be reunited with her kids is April 13, according to the report.
Kroy Biermann’s Claims Against Kim Zolciak
The retired NFL star filed court documents on March 31 requesting full custody during their ongoing divorce battle. Biermann claimed that Zolciak has been “wholly unavailable” to their children and asked for all decision-making authority.
He stated in the documents: “The facts surrounding [Zolciak’s] misguided parenting of the children, lack thereof, and blatant mismanagement of basic parenting responsibilities would be practically unbelievable to anyone not familiar with the circumstances.”
Biermann alleged that his ex missed court-ordered therapy sessions and was out of the country from February 26 to March 19, except for one night on March 9.

Kim Zolciak Denies the Allegations
Zolciak strongly denied her ex’s claims in a statement on March 31. She said, “These accusations are completely false and nothing more than a deliberate attempt by Kroy to defame my character. I spent five weeks away working on two TV shows to support my family and make sure my children are cared for—something I will never apologize for.”
She added, “I refuse to be bullied or have lies twisted into a narrative about who I am. I will not stay silent, the truth is on my side, and it will come to light—no matter how hard anyone tries to bury it.”

The Breakup and Ongoing Divorce
Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann split in April 2023 after 12 years of marriage. Although sources initially suggested the couple was trying to reconcile, Biermann filed for divorce a second time in August 2023.
The two have yet to finalize their separation.

Recent Developments in the Case
Biermann alleged that during one of Zolciak’s parenting nights, one of their children suffered a dog bite. However, Zolciak has categorically denied these claims.
Her legal team has been working to counter the allegations and protect her rights as a mother.

What’s Next?
The court’s decision means that Zolciak must attend therapy sessions before regaining custody of her children. The outcome of this process could significantly impact the future of the family.
As the case continues, both parties are expected to present further evidence and arguments in court.
The situation highlights the complexities of high-profile custody battles and the emotional toll they take on families.
For now, the focus remains on ensuring the well-being of the children while the legal process unfolds.
