Lady Gaga Cancels Montreal Concert Due to Illness
Lady Gaga has announced the cancellation of her concert in Montreal, which was scheduled for Monday evening. The Grammy-winning singer, 40, made the decision just three hours before she was set to take the stage. In a post on her Instagram Story, she explained that she is “unable to perform” due to a worsening respiratory infection. Her doctor strongly advised against the performance, and she expressed deep disappointment at not being able to take the stage until she recovers.
“I’m absolutely heartbroken that I won’t be able to take the stage until I recover,” she wrote. She also apologized to her fans for the inconvenience caused by the last-minute cancellation. At the time of publication, she had not yet shared any information about rescheduling the show or addressing refunds for concertgoers.
Lady Gaga is currently on her Mayhem Ball Tour, which includes her third show in Montreal after performances on Thursday and Friday. The tour is in support of her sixth solo studio album, Mayhem, released in March 2025. The album earned her a Grammy earlier this year for Best Pop Vocal Album.

Up next, she is set to perform at two shows in Saint Paul, Minnesota on Thursday and Friday before wrapping up her tour in New York City next Monday. In her social media statement, she began with a heartfelt message:
“Hi everyone. I’m so sorry to share that I’m unable to perform tonight and have to cancel the show. I’ve been fighting a respiratory infection for the past few days and doing everything I can to rest and recover, but it’s gotten worse.”
She continued: “My doctor has strongly advised me not to perform today and to be honest I don’t think I could give you the quality of a performance today that you deserve. I know how deeply disappointing this is, and I truly could not feel worse about letting you down.”
She added: “I’m so sorry to everyone who made plans to be there and support me. Being in Montreal and performing for you on Thursday and Friday was magical and deeply meaningful. To everyone who was coming tonight, I’m absolutely heartbroken and so sorry.”
The singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, kicked off her Mayhem Ball Tour in July 2025 and will soon conclude her 86-show tour next week. The tour has taken her across the United States, Europe, Australia, Asia, and back to North America.

In between shows, she attended the Grammys in February and made a surprise guest appearance during Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance. She has also faced previous challenges with her health, including a forced postponement of one of her shows in Miami in September 2025 due to vocal strain.
She canceled the show just minutes before showtime and said she would reschedule “as quickly as possible.” At the time, she explained that her voice was “extremely strained” and that she feared “long-term or permanent damage to [her] vocal cords.”

In a social media statement, she wrote: “Hi everyone, I am really so, so sorry, but I need to postpone tonight’s show in Miami. During rehearsal last night and my vocal warmup tonight, my voice was extremely strained and both my doctor and vocal coach have advised me not to go on because of the risk it poses.”
She continued: “I want to be hardcore and just push through this for you, but I don’t want to risk long-term or permanent damage to my vocal cords. There is a significant risk based on all our combined experience with a show like ours, and as you know, I sing live every night.”
She concluded: “Even though this was a hard and agonizing decision, I would be more afraid of the long-term implications on my voice.”
