The exciting news was shared with her followers on Instagram on Wednesday evening. Whitmore posted a series of charming photographs, affectionately dubbed “bump-filled snaps,” clearly indicating that a new addition is on the way. The 40-year-old shared images of her growing bump, taken in warmer climates, with a caption that playfully contrasted the reality with social media expectations. “Instagram V Reality – Spoiler: It wasn’t just a big meal mama ate,” she quipped. “She’s been cooking away!” She also humorously thanked “stretchy pants and travel sick bags.”

The announcement was met with an outpouring of congratulations from celebrity friends in the comments section. Vick Hope was among the first to share her well wishes, writing, “Huge congrats lovely Laura!!” Actress Emily Atack simply left a cascade of loveheart emojis, while her husband, Iain Stirling, known for his iconic voiceover work on Love Island, penned a heartfelt, “I love you.”

This happy news follows the couple’s first child, daughter Stevie Ré, who was born in March 2021. Whitmore and Stirling, who tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, have consistently prioritised their privacy.

It’s worth recalling Whitmore’s announcement of her first pregnancy. This reveal came just a day after her wedding to the Scottish comedian. At that time, she took to Instagram to explain the couple’s approach to sharing personal news. “So I’ve always tried to be protective over the personal side of my life,” she wrote. “A lot of things are just for me and my loved ones and we’ve chosen not to share publicly. However I want to now share good news as it’s our news to share – and I’m gonna be honest it’s starting to look like my lockdown beer belly is out of control. Iain and I are expecting a baby early 2021.”

She candidly shared the challenges of keeping such happy news under wraps, particularly during moments of morning sickness. “It’s been hard to keep such happy news quiet,” she admitted. “Especially the times when I’ve had to run out of live radio to get sick in a bin or my penchant for a bowl of mashed potato in the morning.” Whitmore also playfully debunked any assumptions about her well-being during filming, adding, “I wasn’t hungover like everyone thought. In fact I was completely sober filming the entire series of Celeb Juice, which is quite the accolade!” The couple concluded their announcement by requesting their privacy be respected while also spreading a message of love and appreciation for life’s beauty.
