The Rolling Stones’ Mysterious Poster Sparks Excitement Among Fans
The Rolling Stones, one of the most iconic rock bands in history, have once again captured the attention of their loyal fanbase with a series of intriguing developments. While fans may not always get what they want when it comes to new music from the band, there are signs that this might soon change.
A mysterious poster has recently appeared in various locations across London, sparking speculation about a potential new album from the legendary group. The poster, which reads simply “The Cockroaches,” has drawn comparisons to a secret gig the band performed in 1977 under the name “Keith and the Cockroaches.” This connection has only added to the intrigue surrounding the release.
Ronnie Wood, the band’s guitarist, hinted at the possibility of a new album back in September of last year, stating that fans would be “getting a new album” in 2026. This statement has now been amplified by the appearance of the enigmatic poster, which many believe could be a teaser for an upcoming project.

Simon Harper, founder of the Lip Service podcast, shared an Instagram post this morning linking the QR code on the poster to a website owned by Universal Music, the label that represents the Rolling Stones. This is not the first time a similar website has been used to promote the band’s work. In 2023, a site under the same label was used to tease the release of the band’s album “Hackney Diamonds.”
Upon scanning the QR code, users are directed to a modest bedroom setting with beige walls and patterned sheets covering the bed. On the left side of the room, a pinboard displays two gig tickets – one blue and one pink – along with a bedside table cluttered with plectrums. Straight ahead, the same poster that has been spotted around London is visible, and beneath it, an analogue clock has been stopped at 1:41pm on Saturday, 11 April.
Mr. Harper also noted that when the link is shared with a friend, it comes with an image featuring the phrase: “Who the F Are the Cockroaches?” This question, written in the same typeface as the famous “Who the F is Mick Jagger?” t-shirt worn by Keith Richards in a 1975 portrait, has sparked comparisons and further speculation.
The Independent has reached out to the Rolling Stones for comment, but no official response has been received yet.
It has been over two years since the release of “Hackney Diamonds,” which many critics have praised as the band’s best work in decades. The chart-topping album was produced by Andrew Watt, who has worked with notable artists such as Elton John, Pearl Jam, and Ozzy Osbourne.
Last summer, reports suggested that the Rolling Stones were working on new music at Metropolis Studios in West London. If these rumors prove to be true, this would mark the band’s 25th studio album.
Independent readers are known for their independent-minded approach, valuing real facts and frank opinions. They are empowered by information and inspiration, allowing them to take a stand for their beliefs. As the mystery surrounding the Rolling Stones’ new project continues to unfold, fans worldwide are eagerly waiting for more updates.
