MAFS Stars Clint Rice and Jacqui Burfoot Set to Tie the Knot, Trading Tasmania for a Queensland Lifestyle
The love story that blossomed after the cameras stopped rolling on Married At First Sight Season 12 is reaching a significant milestone. Former participants Clint Rice and Jacqui Burfoot, who found each other after their initial MAFS pairings didn’t work out, are gearing up for their wedding and embarking on a new chapter together. The couple, who announced their engagement in April 2025, are now setting their sights on a sun-drenched future in Queensland, leading to the sale of Clint’s impressive Tasmanian property.
While Jacqui had already moved into Clint’s luxurious abode in Tasmania, the decision has been made to sell the home as they prepare for their move to the Sunshine State. The property, described as a resort-like haven, is now officially on the market.
A Golfer’s Paradise Hits the Market
Clint Rice, a professional golfer and businessman, has listed his sprawling three-bedroom, two-bathroom home located just outside Launceston. The property boasts a price guide between $2.95 million and $3.2 million, reflecting its unique features and extensive renovations.
Clint dedicated a significant 18 months to meticulously transforming the home, with the extensive upgrades completed in 2024. The residence is clearly designed for those who appreciate the finer things in life, particularly golf enthusiasts.
Key amenities that make this property a golfer’s dream include:
- A private five-hole putting green, perfect for honing those short game skills.
- An indoor golf simulator, allowing for practice regardless of the weather.
- A full-size tennis court for a bit of friendly competition or a vigorous workout.
- A dedicated gym, ensuring fitness is always on the agenda.
Clint expressed his pride in the renovation, stating, “It’s a great house. We thought about everything. There were months of going back and forth with the designer to actually get it right, and we did get it really right.” He particularly highlighted the “sanctuary” he created within the primary bedroom suite as his favourite aspect of the home.
A Sanctuary Designed for Relaxation
The master suite is a testament to Clint’s attention to detail and desire for a personal retreat. He elaborated on its features: “My favourite part of the house is the en suite. The king-size master bedroom flows into the walk-in dressing room, which then leads to the actual en suite with a walk-in shower and skylights. I love that part of the house. It’s kind of like a sanctuary.” This description paints a picture of a luxurious and tranquil space, designed for ultimate relaxation and privacy.
Whirlwind Romance and Future Aspirations
The couple, who found love unexpectedly after their MAFS journeys, have been very open about their whirlwind romance and future plans. They previously spoke about their excitement for their upcoming wedding, which they anticipated would take place this summer. Their plans for nuptials are ambitious, potentially involving multiple ceremonies to accommodate family and friends.
The proposed wedding celebrations include:
- A ceremony in Tasmania, their current home.
- A celebration in Jacqui’s native Queenstown, New Zealand.
- A potential third destination wedding in the South of France, adding a touch of international glamour.
Beyond the wedding bells, Clint and Jacqui are also looking forward to starting a “big family” in the future, although they are prioritising other goals for now.
Building an Empire Together
Jewellery designer Jacqui Burfoot has been vocal about her professional ambitions. In an interview last October, she shared her focus on building her business empire before starting a family. Her vision is clear: “I want a successful career: the most exciting thing for me is building a business together. It’s always been a dream of mine to build a multimillion-dollar company.”
Jacqui sees Clint as a valuable partner in achieving these business goals. She noted, “Clint is very good at business – he has already successfully exited a seven-figure golf business. Together, we are aiming higher.” This shared ambition and complementary skill set suggest a powerful partnership, both personally and professionally, as they embark on this new chapter in Queensland. Their move signifies a fresh start and a commitment to building a future together, fuelled by love and shared entrepreneurial drive.
