A man has been apprehended and faces charges after he was discovered illegally entering the enclosure of Moo Deng, the incredibly popular pygmy hippo that has captured the hearts of many online. The man remained within the confines of the enclosure for approximately one to two minutes. Zoo staff eventually noticed his presence. Narongwit confirmed that the individual did not attempt to escape as the zoo contacted the police.

The zoo has reported that Moo Deng has effectively doubled the number of visitors to the Khao Kheow Open Zoo.
