Disco Prince secured placings at Tamworth two starts back and followed it up with a solid fourth at Muswellbrook. His consistency suggests he could run another forward race in this event.

Real Housewives had a tough run at Dubbo when finishing eighth two runs ago, but bounced back with a strong victory at Armidale. Her recent performance shows she is ready to be taken seriously again.

6. Tokyo Queen

Tokyo Queen has been held back in her two starts since resuming from a spell but still has room for improvement. She could be a contender if she steps up her performance.

The Magnet finished third at Wyong in her last start and could repeat that performance to secure a place in the minor money.

12. Strassman

Strassman improved on a down-the-track effort at Dubbo when finishing second at Warren last time out. A placing would not be surprising.

4. Long Live

Long Live ran fourth on debut at Kembla Grange and followed it up with a fourth at Goulburn. He looks well-placed in this race and could be a contender.

6. Six Kings

Six Kings has been mid-field in his two starts in city grade and resumes here after two recent trials. He could improve with a fresh run.

2. Castro

Castro had four straight placings at Dubbo before finishing fifth at Orange in his latest start. He could return to the placings against these horses.

15. Miss Maverick

Miss Maverick has a string of recent placings and should be prominent from the good barrier.

Long Live is the best bet to win this race.

Race 5: A Test of Stamina and Form

3. Whateley

Whateley hit the line well when second-up from a spell, finishing third at Muswellbrook. The extra distance here should suit him, and he is a leading contender.

5. Stockholm

Stockholm has won two in a row at Dubbo and could take plenty of beating if he maintains that form.

6. Flamboyant Lad

Flamboyant Lad hasn’t been too far away in his two most recent starts and is a place chance.

9. Green Run

Green Run scored in good style at Dubbo last time out and has claims with a repeat performance.

Whateley is the best choice for an each-way bet.

Race 6: A Mix of Experience and Freshness

9. Canamble

Canamble is a talented mare whose form has been patchy, but she did win at Scone four starts ago. She was midfield at Gosford when last produced and could give a good sight if the conditions are right.

1. Jolly Good Fellow

Jolly Good Fellow is down in grade after a sixth-place finish in a County Championships Qualifier at this track. He should run a bold race.

2. Cool Lad

Cool Lad was placed in a couple of races at Newcastle and was then spelled after a sixth at that track in October. He is fresh for this race.

6. Wonder Step

Wonder Step wasn’t beaten far at Orange when resuming and warrants consideration.

Canamble is the best value bet for an each-way wager.

Race 7: A New Beginning for Some Rising Stars

1. Transactions

Transactions was formerly in the Anthony and Sam Freedman stable in Victoria and showed plenty of talent. He resumed from a spell with a strong victory at Corowa and looks to be on an upward spiral.

3. Girrawheen

Girrawheen ran a gallant race for a last-start second at Scone behind Shotgun Bella. If she runs up to that standard, she will be hard to beat.

2. West Head

West Head won a couple of races at Coonamble and Narromine last June and hasn’t raced since finishing sixth at Narromine in September. He bears close watching fresh.
