Offset has addressed Lil Tjay’s recent comments, where the 24-year-old rapper called him a “rat” after Offset was shot outside a Florida casino on Monday night. The incident occurred at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida, and has sparked a public exchange between the two artists.
According to reports, Offset became aware of a comment made by Tjay following his release from jail. Tjay had been arrested earlier that day for disorderly conduct and a capias-traffic charge related to driving without a valid license. His attorney, Dawn Florio, stated in a statement shared with Complex that Tjay was not involved in the shooting.
In a social media post, Offset responded to Tjay’s remarks with a direct message: “U ain’t buss nun.” This short but pointed response has generated significant attention among fans and followers.
Tjay, who was released from custody, told reporters that he did not engage in any fighting and claimed that Offset was the one who initiated the conflict. He said, “The last thing I see was Offset looking at me like this: ‘Yo, that na shot me, that na shot me!’” Tjay added, “Na is a rat, na. … I didn’t do no damn fighting. Did I shoot? That st is crazy. I will smack the st out of Offset. He would never play like that with me in his life. Ask Offset.”
A spokesperson for Offset confirmed that he was shot during the incident and is currently receiving medical care at a local hospital. They stated, “We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored.”
According to a probable cause affidavit reviewed by TMZ, police claim that Tjay directed members of his party to start a fight with another group of males at the hotel. During the altercation, one of Tjay’s associates pulled a gun and fired, injuring Offset.
The documents reportedly state that officers reviewed security footage showing Tjay exiting his vehicle, identifying Offset, and leading his group toward the rapper. The incident was filmed on Tjay’s phone, and the fight continued until police arrived.
Offset is still recovering in a local hospital but was well enough to be wheeled outside for a cigarette. The situation remains under investigation, and more details are expected as the case develops.
