Oklahoma Couple’s Alleged Twin Surrogate Scheme Sparks Outrage

Disturbing Allegations Emerge of Teen Surrogate Pregnancy in Oklahoma

Authorities in Oklahoma have arrested a couple on serious charges, including sexual abuse of a child, after an investigation revealed disturbing allegations that they used a 14-year-old girl as a surrogate to carry their twins. Nathan Potier and Erica Palmer, both 36 years old, were apprehended in Reno-Sparks, Nevada, over 1,450 miles from their home state, following an intensive three-month inquiry.

The investigation was sparked in December 2025 when a caseworker from Oklahoma Child Protective Services reported that a 14-year-old girl was pregnant with twins. This report prompted an investigation by the Oklahoma City Police Department into a suspected child sexual assault at an apartment complex located near North Penn and Northwest 122nd Street. Investigators believe the teenage victim was allegedly abused by the couple, resulting in her pregnancy, with Potier identified as the alleged father of the unborn twins.

According to official records, Erica Palmer reportedly informed police that she desired children but was unable to conceive due to a prior tubal ligation. A tubal ligation, commonly known as ‘having your tubes tied,’ is a medical procedure that results in permanent birth control.

The alleged criminal activity did not stop at the borders of Oklahoma. Further investigation uncovered earlier reports from California detailing accusations of sexual assault against Nathan Potier involving the same 14-year-old girl. These allegations also implicated Erica Palmer, suggesting she was aware of the abuse.

As the investigation intensified, warrants were issued for the arrest of Potier and Palmer. Police had obtained a search warrant to collect Potier’s DNA to confirm paternity. However, before law enforcement could execute the warrants, the couple allegedly fled Oklahoma. Their attempt to evade justice was ultimately unsuccessful, as they were located and arrested by the US Marshals Nevada Violent Offender Task Force in Nevada.

Potier faces a charge of sexual abuse of a child, while Palmer has been charged with enabling sexual abuse of a child and two counts of child abandonment. The teenage victim has since been placed in foster care to ensure her safety and well-being.

Both Potier and Palmer were being held at the Washoe County Detention Facility in Nevada as of Friday afternoon. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement commending the “high level of coordination between investigators and partner agencies,” emphasizing their ongoing commitment to locating individuals attempting to evade accountability.

The case has understandably generated significant public outrage, with social media users expressing shock and disgust at the alleged actions of the couple. Comments such as “Just when you think people can’t be even more evil” and “This world is so f**ked up!” reflect the widespread condemnation of the alleged crimes.

Financial details of the case have also come to light, with records indicating that Palmer’s bond was set at $200,000, and Potier’s at $300,000. The gravity of the charges and the alleged exploitation of a minor have sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the critical importance of child protection services and law enforcement collaboration in bringing perpetrators to justice. The legal proceedings are expected to continue as the full extent of the alleged abuse and exploitation is investigated.
