Looking beyond the initial launch, a mobile version of Pokémon Champions is also in development, with plans for cross-platform play. This will allow trainers on the Nintendo Switch to seamlessly connect and battle with players on their mobile devices, expanding the competitive community.
Integration with Pokémon HOME is confirmed, enabling players to import their favourite Pokémon from other supported titles. However, it’s important to note that the roster available for import will be curated and not entirely open, suggesting a focus on a balanced competitive environment. To further enhance the player experience from day one, a Starter Pack bundle will be available at launch, offering additional Pokémon storage and exclusive in-game content.
Pokémon Champions: Rankings and Season System

Mega Evolutions Return with New Abilities
Excitingly, Pokémon Champions will see the return of Mega Evolutions, with specific fan-favourite Pokémon set to receive this powerful boost. Making their comeback from Pokémon Legends: Z-A, the following Pokémon will feature new Mega Evolutions, each boasting unique and game-changing Abilities:
- Mega Meganium: This Mega Evolution will sport the “Mega Sol” Ability, which effectively creates harsh sunlight on the battlefield. This can significantly alter the dynamics of battles, empowering certain Pokémon and strategies while hindering others.
- Mega Emboar: Mega Emboar will gain the “Mold Breaker” Ability. This classic and powerful Ability allows its moves to ignore the opponent’s Ability, providing a critical advantage against Pokémon with defensive or disruptive passive effects.
- Mega Feraligatr: The Mega Evolution of Feraligatr will introduce “Dragonize.” This Ability will transform its Normal-type moves into Dragon-type attacks, while also providing a substantial 20% power boost. This offers a potent offensive tool and a new strategic option for Dragon-type enthusiasts.
