Renter’s dream fulfilled with Mount Ousley home purchase

Successful Auctions in Mount Ousley and Surrounding Areas

A significant number of property enthusiasts gathered for a recent auction in Mount Ousley, where a home on 3 Jobson Avenue was successfully sold. The three-bedroom house, situated on a generous 663 square metres, was sold under the hammer for $960,000. This sale highlights the ongoing interest in properties within this sought-after suburb.

The property’s marketing materials describe it as an ideal opportunity for those looking to renovate or extend. “Set to inspire the keen renovator or ambitious family buyer, this charming home in a sought-after suburb brims with possibility,” the listing states. The single-level layout offers a blank canvas for potential buyers, whether they are interested in modernizing the interiors or expanding the living space.

Selling agent Jake O’Connor from The Agency Illawarra noted that heavy rain forced the auction to be held indoors. Despite the weather, there were six registered bidders, with three actively participating in the bidding process. The auction started at $800,000, and the competition was fierce. “Two of them went back-and-forth strongly to just above reserve,” Mr O’Connor explained. “It was quick bidding, back-and-forth. There were about 20 bids placed in total.”

Mr O’Connor also mentioned that the successful buyer had been renting in the same street and was particularly drawn to the location. “They’re going to renovate it, and either rent it out or move in themselves,” he said. This indicates a growing trend among buyers who are looking for properties in familiar neighborhoods.

Other Notable Sales

In Corrimal, another property at 22 Foothills Road was sold for $1.2 million. The home, which sits on 910 square metres, features an impressive 18.2-metre frontage and a generous four-bedroom layout. The property’s marketing highlights its suitability for family living, with well-proportioned rooms and a substantial timber deck perfect for entertaining.

Selling agent Sam Vescio from MMJ North stated that the sale was secured by a single registered bidder, who negotiated the purchase under auction conditions. The buyer, who is from interstate, initially planned to retain the home and rent it out. However, there is potential for future redevelopment of the site.

Additional Sales in Lake Heights

Another notable sale occurred in Lake Heights, where the home at 139 Northcliffe Drive fetched $1.301 million. This four-bedroom property spans two levels and includes multiple living areas, a fully renovated kitchen, an in-ground pool, and a second covered entertaining area complete with a built-in bar.

The selling agent for this property was Mathew Niksic from Ray White South Wollongong. The home’s unique features make it an attractive option for those seeking a spacious and versatile living environment.
