Samantha Armytage Sells South Coast Gem in Hyams Beach
Veteran Australian television personality and journalist Samantha Armytage has officially sold her picturesque South Coast home. The property, nestled in the highly sought-after Hyams Beach, was recently re-listed and has now been marked as sold on online property platforms as of Thursday. While the exact sale price remains undisclosed, as official records do not yet reveal this figure, the transaction marks the end of an era for Armytage’s coastal retreat.
The charming, renovated home was initially put up for sale via Expressions of Interest earlier this year, with a guide price ranging from $2.95 million to $3.1 million. Bradley Cocks from Drew Lindsay Sotheby’s International Realty, the selling agent for the property, was approached for comment regarding the sale.
This latest sale follows news earlier in 2024 that Armytage’s South Coast beach house had been withdrawn from the market. This development coincided with the former host of Farmer Wants a Wife and The Golden Bachelor Australia confirming her separation from her husband of four years, Richard Lavender.
A Prized Location and a Savvy Investment
Armytage first listed her holiday home in Hyams Beach in 2023. Situated on a stunning stretch of coastline, perfectly positioned between the renowned Hyams Beach and Chinamans Beach, it was initially offered with a price guide of $3.2 million. The property’s prime location was a significant drawcard, as highlighted by Mr Cocks, who also commended Armytage for her excellent work on the home’s interiors.
“The home’s location was key, while Armytage had ‘done a great job with the interiors’,” Mr Cocks previously stated. He also noted the potential for future owners to further enhance the property: “There’s also a lot of room to make improvements and add value.” Armytage’s decision to sell stemmed from no longer having a personal use for the property, according to the agent.
A Coastal Haven with Potential
The three-bedroom, two-bathroom residence offers breathtaking views of Jervis Bay and sits on a generous 658 square metre block. Inside, the home boasts a light-filled kitchen, a welcoming front deck, and expansive, double-sized living areas, perfect for both relaxation and entertaining.

Beyond the main living spaces, the property features a large, double lock-up garage. This area is complemented by existing undercover, carport-style parking, providing a versatile foundation for potential conversion into a studio, games room, or additional sleeping quarters, offering further scope to add value.
A Lucrative Holiday Rental
The Hyams Beach property has also proven to be a successful holiday rental. It has been utilised as a private weekender and holiday rental, commanding a nightly rate of $1200. This demonstrates its appeal to holidaymakers seeking a slice of the beautiful South Coast.
Cotality records indicate that Armytage acquired the home in 2018 for $1.765 million, signifying a substantial return on her investment. Further enhancing the property’s appeal and value, a new Colorbond roof was installed in 2024, ensuring its longevity and modern appeal.

The sale of this coastal property marks the end of a chapter for Samantha Armytage, but the enduring charm and prime location of Hyams Beach ensure its continued desirability for future owners.
