Selena Gomez dazzles in flirty pink mini dress launching new Rare Beauty product

Selena Gomez Celebrates Rare Beauty Launch with a Chic Look

Selena Gomez, the 33-year-old actress and businesswoman, recently celebrated the launch of a new product from her cosmetics brand, Rare Beauty. The event took place on Thursday at The West Hollywood EDITION hotel in Los Angeles, where she made a striking appearance in a chic pink mini dress.

Gomez’s look was completed with her black hair pinned back, allowing a few strands to frame her face. She paired the outfit with pointed-toe white heels and sparkly hoop earrings, adding a touch of elegance to her ensemble.

The event marked the release of Rare Beauty’s latest product: the True To Myself Natural Matte Longwear foundation. This foundation is available in 48 shades and retails for $38. It is both cruelty-free and paraben-free, as well as vegan-friendly.

A Growing Brand

Since its launch in 2020, Rare Beauty has grown significantly. As of 2025, the brand is estimated to be worth around $2.7 billion, according to Fortune. The success of the company reflects Gomez’s dedication to creating inclusive and high-quality beauty products.

At the event, guests had the opportunity to test out the new foundation while enjoying music from DJ Rae Sada. Attendees included notable figures such as Dancing with the Stars pro Cheryl Burke and makeup artist Natalie Violette.

Star-Studded Guests

Internet personality Alexis Oakley also attended the event, making a playful statement in a polka-dot top and matching mini skirt. Pearse Renfree, Vice President of Global Education and Events at Rare Beauty, was joined by model Alma Cooper inside the venue.

Renfree was seen testing out a shade of the new foundation on Cooper, highlighting the interactive nature of the event. Rare Beauty’s Global Makeup Artist Cynthia Di Meo was also present, further emphasizing the brand’s commitment to quality and customer experience.

Social Media Buzz

The day before the event, Gomez shared her excitement about the new product on Instagram. She wrote, “Primes, covers, and sets all in one. My team and I at @rarebeauty have been working on this 3-in-1 natural matte foundation for years to make getting ready easier. It’s super lightweight, lasts all day, and honestly looks even better the longer you wear it.”

Rare Beauty continues to challenge unrealistic beauty standards, promoting self-acceptance and individuality. On the brand’s website, Gomez stated, “Being rare is about being comfortable with yourself. I’ve stopped trying to be perfect. I just want to be me.”

Personal Life and Mental Health

Gomez’s husband, Benny Blanco, did not attend the event. The couple married last year in September. However, their relationship remains a source of strength for Gomez, especially as she navigates her mental health journey.

Last month, Gomez opened up about her mental health during an episode of the Friends Keep Secrets podcast. She joined Blanco along with his co-hosts Lil Dicky and wife Kristin Batalucco to discuss the topic.

During the conversation, Blanco asked Gomez if she knew she had bipolar disorder before receiving an official diagnosis. She responded, “I knew something was wrong, but I think I was misdiagnosed.” She admitted that the journey to getting a diagnosis was “f***ing complicated.”

Blanco added, “The crazy thing is even Selena will have moments of like, she’s having mania and she doesn’t know.” He explained that it is a delicate situation because “you can’t really – you’re not supposed to technically talk to the person really about it while they are deep in it.”

Gomez praised Blanco for being a “partner that will understand where maybe the temperature is at and meet you where you are.” Following her diagnosis, the Only Murders In The Building star expressed that she is now able to live “freely.”

A Journey of Self-Acceptance

Gomez’s openness about her mental health and her efforts to build a brand that promotes self-acceptance have resonated with many. Her journey highlights the importance of mental health awareness and the power of authenticity.

As Rare Beauty continues to grow, it remains a testament to Gomez’s vision and commitment to creating a more inclusive beauty industry. With each new product, the brand reinforces its mission to empower individuals to embrace their unique qualities.
