Bystanders intervened and restrained LaBeouf until law enforcement arrived. He was subsequently taken to a hospital, later discharged, and then taken into custody. His initial court appearance is anticipated as New Orleans’ extensive Mardi Gras festivities reach their crescendo.
Footage that has surfaced online appears to show a shirtless LaBeouf engaged in an argument with another individual in the early hours of a Tuesday morning, prior to receiving attention from paramedics.
Reports of disruptive behaviour had reportedly trailed the actor throughout New Orleans in the days leading up to his arrest. One bartender recounted to a publication, “He is terrorising the city.” Another incident detailed by a doorman at a venue named Ms Mae’s described LaBeouf arriving in a “somewhat belligerent state” and being asked to depart after attempting to access the bar area and serve drinks.
Personal Life Under Scrutiny Amidst Legal Troubles
This latest arrest coincides with emerging reports regarding the status of LaBeouf’s marriage to actress Mia Goth. While it is understood that the couple quietly separated in mid-2025, it remains unclear if any formal divorce proceedings have been initiated.
Mia Goth and Shia LaBeouf first crossed paths in 2012 on the set of Nymphomaniac: Vol. II. They exchanged vows in Las Vegas in 2016 and welcomed their daughter, Isabel, in 2022.
Their relationship has been a subject of public interest, characterised by periods of both separation and reconciliation. In 2018, a representative for the couple had stated, “Shia and Mia have filed for divorce. The separation is amicable, and all details pertaining to the divorce proceedings will remain private.” However, in a curious turn of events, the pair were observed wearing their wedding rings in March 2020 while out together in Los Angeles.
The period between 2018 and 2019 saw LaBeouf linked with FKA twigs, followed by a reported relationship with Margaret Qualley in 2020.

The current incident adds to a well-documented history of controversies surrounding the actor. In December 2020, FKA twigs filed a lawsuit against LaBeouf, alleging sexual battery, assault, and emotional distress. The case was reportedly settled in July 2025.
