Match Preview: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Lucknow Super Giants

Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Lucknow Super Giants in match 10 of the IPL 2026 season on April 5 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The match is scheduled to start at 3:30 PM IST. So far, Sunrisers Hyderabad have played two matches, winning one, while Lucknow Super Giants have only played one game and lost it. Hyderabad will aim to secure a win in front of their home crowd, while LSG will be looking for their first victory of the season.

Ishan Kishan, the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad, won the toss and chose to bowl first. Rishabh Pant, the skipper of Lucknow Super Giants, decided to put the opposition into bat at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Captains’ Comments at the Toss

Ishan Kishan (SRH Captain):

“Playing in Hyderabad is always a great experience. It’s always good to have the home support and the crowd loves the SRH team. So, I’m very happy to be here. There are just two changes in the team. Livingstone comes in, and Harshal Patel is also back. Harshal Patel has done well whenever he’s bowled here. Liam Livingstone will get an opportunity to use his off-spin against left-handers. In T20 cricket, execution is the most important thing. You need to be in a good headspace, stay calm, and try to save as many runs as possible. So, we’ll plan well and execute our balls. And I think we’ll see how it goes from there. It’s really important for us to get these two points. But at the same time, we need to remain calm, take one match at a time. That’s the whole plan—stay in a good headspace and play your best game possible.”

Rishabh Pant (LSG Captain):

“We’re looking to bowl first. The wicket looks good, but their main strength is batting, so we want them to bat first. We can put them under pressure in the second innings. We come here every year, so it’s not a new challenge. But at the same time, this is a team that can hurt you well. However, whoever plays better cricket will win. On the conditions, it looks like a good wicket. But there’s something in the wicket. After the powerplay, I think it might start sticking into the pitch more. The ball will get older, and it’ll be harder to score. Just one change—Sid (Manimaran Siddharth) comes in for Nortje. Will we open today? We’ll see, we’ll see.”
