William Shatner Addresses Health Rumours
Star Trek legend William Shatner has recently addressed persistent rumors about his health, clarifying that they are completely unfounded. At 95 years old, the Canadian actor took to Instagram to refute claims that he has brain cancer. “This is getting insane,” he wrote, highlighting how these rumors have become increasingly concerning.
Shatner shared a new photograph taken by his daughter, which was intended to show he is in good health. “My Daughter came over to tell me her daughter heard that I had brain cancer. 🙄” he explained. “She took this photo and sent it to me to upload to prove I’m not ill. 🤷 The people who are ill are those that are spreading these ridiculous stories.”
He added: “I’m fit as a fiddle. You don’t have to worry. This is getting insane.”
Recent Health Updates
Shatner recently opened up about his health, revealing that he fell off a horse and required surgery for an injury. At the Saturn Awards, he shared details about the incident. “I ride the horses that can compete in equine skills, which is fast down and ends on a sliding stop,” he told media at the event. “And the horse that I owned, I came off.”
“She had a habit of going too far, like six inches to the side. And I’m riding it. And I’m ready. And she goes…” he continued. “I’m not a young stuntman anymore. I started to roll, but hit the dirt with my shoulder. So I wrecked my shoulder,” he said, adding he was set to have a “new type of shoulder operation called a reverse something or other”.
Celebrating a Milestone Birthday
Despite the recent health concerns, Shatner recently celebrated his milestone 95th birthday. He shared a post in celebration, joking: “At 95, I’m still smokin’! 😝” while holding a cigar in one picture. “I’ve learned two things: Never waste a good cigar. Never trust anyone who says you should ‘act your age.’ 😉👍.”
