Toyota Unveils Reproduction Dashboard for Classic Supra
Toyota has taken another step in its commitment to preserving automotive heritage with the introduction of a reproduction dashboard for the 1993 to 2002 Mk4 Supra ‘A80’ sports car. This new part is among more than 300 components that the automaker is reproducing under its GR Heritage Parts Project, aimed at helping owners maintain and restore their classic Toyota models.
The dashboard, which will be produced starting in September, uses modern materials and advanced manufacturing techniques to enhance durability while preserving the original plastic grain for visual authenticity. This approach ensures that the reproduced parts not only function as intended but also look like the original components, maintaining the aesthetic appeal of these iconic vehicles.
The GR Heritage Parts Project, launched in 2019, focuses on producing discontinued parts for older Toyota models, allowing enthusiasts to keep their cars on the road. The project covers eight different models, including the 2000GT, A70 and A80 Supra, Corolla AE86 coupe, and the 40, 60, 70, and 80 Series Land Cruisers. Each part is carefully crafted to match the original design while incorporating the latest manufacturing methods.
Key Components in the Heritage Parts Project
Some of the notable components produced by Gazoo Racing include:
- The block and cylinder head of the 4A-GE engine from the AE86 Corolla. These parts are essential for maintaining the performance and reliability of the classic model.
Toyota has emphasized that the reproduced A80 Supra dashboard will be made using modern materials to combat issues such as cracking and fading that affected the original components. Despite these improvements, the dashboard will retain its original finish and design, ensuring that it blends seamlessly with the rest of the vehicle.

Availability and Future Plans
The instrument panel is set to be available from September across Japan at GR Garage locations and Toyota dealerships. However, it remains unclear whether the part will be offered to customers outside of Japan who are looking to preserve their older models. With the first examples of the A80 Supra turning 33 this year, there is growing interest in maintaining these vehicles.
It is worth noting that the A80 Supra was never officially sold in Australia. Nevertheless, many examples have found their way to local roads through grey imports from Japan and other countries. This has created a dedicated community of enthusiasts who are keen on keeping these cars running.

The Broader Impact of the Heritage Parts Project
The GR Heritage Parts Project is a significant initiative that highlights Toyota’s dedication to its legacy and the passion of its customers. By providing access to high-quality reproduction parts, Toyota is enabling owners to maintain the integrity of their classic vehicles while benefiting from modern technology.
This effort not only supports the preservation of automotive history but also reinforces Toyota’s reputation as a brand that values innovation and tradition. As more parts become available, the project is expected to grow, offering even more options for enthusiasts looking to keep their beloved models on the road.
With the introduction of the A80 Supra dashboard, Toyota continues to demonstrate its commitment to the automotive community, ensuring that these iconic vehicles remain a part of the driving experience for generations to come.
