President Donald Trump has urged his supporters to avoid attending concerts by rock legend Bruce Springsteen, criticizing the musician as “a dried up prune” and accusing him of charging excessive ticket prices.
On Thursday morning, Trump took to Truth Social to express his frustration with the New Jersey-born artist, whom he has frequently targeted over the years. In a 117-word rant, he wrote: “Bad, and very boring singer, Bruce Springsteen, who looks like a dried up prune who has suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon, has long had a horrible and incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
He continued, “The guy is a total loser who spews hate against a President who won a Landslide Election. MAGA SHOULD BOYCOTT HIS OVERPRICED CONCERTS, WHICH SUCK. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY.”
This feud between Trump and Springsteen has been ongoing for over a decade. In 2012, before entering politics, Trump frequently criticized the musician on social media. He once wrote on Twitter: “Why would Ohio listen to Bruce Springsteen reading his lines? Be careful or I will go to Ohio and @MittRomney will win it,” after Springsteen appeared at a “get-out-the-vote” rally for then-President Barack Obama.
In September 2016, just two months before the election, Springsteen called Trump a “moron” in Rolling Stone, warning that the country was “under siege” and describing it as “a tragedy for our democracy.” He also endorsed Hillary Clinton. Since then, Springsteen has remained vocal in his opposition to Trump, labeling his administration “corrupt, incompetent and treasonous” last May.
In response, Trump posted on Truth Social the next day: “Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics and, importantly, he’s not a talented guy — Just a pushy, obnoxious JERK.”

Later in May, Trump shared an AI-generated video of himself hitting the Grammy winner with a golf ball.
Earlier this week, Springsteen launched a tour in Minneapolis, supporting the city’s protests against Trump’s immigration policies. During a speech in St. Paul on March 29, he addressed a crowd of “No Kings” protestors, saying: “The power and the solidarity of the people of Minneapolis, of Minnesota, was an inspiration to the entire country. Your strength and your commitment told us that this is still America, and this reactionary nightmare, and these invasions of American cities will not stand.”
