Legal Developments Following Tiger Woods’ DUI Crash
A recent incident involving golf legend Tiger Woods has led to new legal developments, as the man whose trailer was hit by Woods has hired his own attorney. This could add another layer of complexity to the ongoing situation.
Jeromy Bullard, who runs a pressure washer cleaning service in Florida, was slowing down to turn into a driveway on Friday when Woods collided with the back of his vehicle. The crash resulted in Woods’ SUV flipping over. Fortunately, neither party was injured. However, TMZ reports that Bullard has now retained personal injury attorney Jason Fagnano, who specializes in cases involving auto, truck, motorcycle, and pedestrian accidents.
Fagnano has filed a notice of appearance and invocation of rights in a Florida court, indicating that he will represent Bullard in the criminal case. While hiring a lawyer does not necessarily mean that Bullard is planning to sue Woods, it opens the possibility of further legal challenges for the golfer, who is already facing charges including DUI, property damage, refusal to submit to a lawful test, and a citation for careless driving.
The incident occurred when Woods attempted to overtake Bullard’s truck and trailer on a quiet street in Jupiter Island. According to reports, the collision caused approximately $5,000 in damages to Bullard’s vehicle and equipment. Woods managed to exit the passenger side of the vehicle but was later arrested after failing a field sobriety test.
During the time between the crash and his arrest, Woods received a phone call from President Trump, as revealed by police bodycam footage. This event took place on Friday afternoon, just hours before it was reported that Woods’ $50 million private jet had landed in Zurich, Switzerland.
Although it remains unclear if Woods was aboard the plane, he had previously obtained permission from a judge to travel outside the U.S. to attend a rehab facility. Switzerland is known for its high-end and luxurious treatment centers, which may have been a factor in the decision. Woods’ attorney cited privacy concerns as the primary reason for seeking treatment abroad.
This potential move to Switzerland comes shortly after Woods’ girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, broke her silence on the incident. She posted a supportive message on her Instagram account, accompanied by a photo of the couple embracing. The message simply read: “Love you.”
According to the Daily Mail, Vanessa has been actively encouraging Woods to seek the best care possible and has expressed her determination to prevent any recurrence of past issues that have affected Woods’ life outside of sports.
This incident marks the fourth time since 2009 that Woods has been involved in an accident. The first occurred when he drove into a fire hydrant near his home after his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, discovered he had been cheating. In 2017, he was found asleep at the wheel with the engine running and was arrested for DUI, blaming an “unexpected reaction” to prescription medication. He later checked into rehab.
In 2021, Woods rolled his car at high speed in California, resulting in multiple fractures to his right leg and concerns about potential amputation.
Vanessa and Woods have been in a relationship since around Thanksgiving 2024, with the Daily Mail exclusively reporting on their relationship in March of the previous year.
